ASME Mechanical Engineer, Garden City, New York 2018-2019
Heat exchanger Mechanical design, Heat transfer calculations, Costing. Code compliance ASME, TEMA, EJMA,
Heat exchanger sizing – Determine required heat exchanger configuration to satisfy customer’s performance requirements. Work directly with customer and the sales team to ensure that the requirements specification is complete, reasonable, and within the capabilities of our heat exchanger models.
Heat exchanger design – Mechanical design of heat exchangers and their components as per ASME and European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Stress analysis of individual components and entire heat exchanger to ensure that it can handle the pressures, temperatures, and mechanical loads it may be subjected to. Design the part so that it can be manufactured in the most cost effective way, and that the parts can be easily assembled. Produce drawings to describe the parts. When applicable, determine that the heat exchanger and its production methods will satisfy pressure vessel code requirements.
Create 3D models and 2D engineering drawings of heat exchanger in SolidWorks. Design maintenance – Revise drawings, specifications, work instructions, production tools, and equipment in order to address process change over time.
Design of production processes – Determine the process required to manufacture new heat exchangers and how to improve the process used for existing designs. Design of tools, fixtures, and equipment in SolidWorks as required. Create work instructions for their use. Consult with suppliers to optimize the processes used.
