Abbott Inc: Shelton, CT.
Conversion team: Successfully converted over 50 Various Jewelry Inventory systems’ data into a newly acquired Edge Inventory Jewelry system by Abbott Inc. Wrote Visual Basic programs, Access and SQL queries to convert their Inventory, Customer, Sales history, Vendor and Associate data into their correct, corresponding tables and fields on the new database system. Used analysis skills to determine where the necessary, required data was on their old system and which tables, fields to convert it to on the new system and how best to convert it so that the transfer is smooth, no data is lost and their business continues without interruption more effectively than before. Visual basic programs were written to update either an Access data base or SQL database. Working at Company from Oct. 2015-Oct.2018
Costello & Associates Consulting Firm: Clairol Inc., CT.
Manufacturing Order Maintenance system: Modified an ASI CICS COBOL program to enable it to automatically create, modify or delete a Dye Weigh order each time this was done to an order for a Formula. This was done by creating certain terminal status vsam records and recursively calling the same CICS program over again through the CICS Link command and letting it repeat the same processing for a dye weigh order. Worked for this Client approximately 14 months in 1996-1997.
Costello & Associates Consulting Firm : Blue Cross & Blue Shield of CT: As a team member, I was responsible for the conversion of the Enrollment and Billing System from an IMS to DB2 system. I developed new COBOL II DB2/SQL IO Sub modules and updated existing Cobol IMS/DLI and DB2/SQL calling modules for the conversion process. I was responsible for creating my own DB2 tables and test data for all of the programs for the unit testing. Worked on project 11 months in 1993.
Neoterics Consulting Services: Sikorsky Aircraft: Responsibilities included customer requested enhancements and corrections for an Online IMS/DC and batch IMS/DLI Inventory system. A particular Customer requested correction involved the Year-End Rebalancing of the Inventory Database. Through the use of JCL/Syncsorts and COBOL batch programs, I developed a series of reports to show invalid quantity and dollar value on the Inventory database on both Warehouse and Product Cost Pool/Cost Element Group levels for parts. These reports demonstrated any discrepancies found between the dollar value on the Warehouse and PCP/CEG level and the correct value as calculated from the Standard Cost DB2 table and the Frozen Cost DB2 table for any Warehouse/Part. Using DB2/QMF queries, I analyzed and tested an Inventory rebalancing IMS/BMP program and it’s DB2/IMS sub modules. I enhanced these programs to correctly re-balance each part’s dollar value (location and Due in) and individual PCP/CEG value costs such as Material, Material Overhead, Labor and Labor Overhead . Enhancements were required to create valid transaction history records of this re-balance. This process was needed so that the General Ledger Accounts could be balanced. Implemented this process to production for the use of Cost Accountants. Worked for Client approximately 2 years in 1994.
Southern New England Telephone Co.: Information Systems Specialist- Analyst I I used analysis, coding and testing skills for the Unbilled Earned Minutes of Use project. This required enhancing the monthly financial reporting job to allocate the minutes of use of the unbilled earned usage to specific Journal usage accounts and their revenue codes. I separated these minutes of use into the current (legitimate) unbilled and the prior (illegitimate) unbilled. Created a new monthly report for the Forecast group containing this gathered information and expanded the financial IMS database in order to store the minutes of use according to specific Journal accounts and their revenue codes on a monthly basis. Worked for company 16 months. 1992.
Pratt &Whitney, United Technologies: Senior Programmer/Analyst: I implemented and maintained an Internal Attendance and Project Time Reporting System which consisted of IMS/DC Online screens for use by Is Management and their employees. IMS/DLI batch programs were used to draw off project accounting information on a weekly basis. Security features were built in to control access of sensitive information. Upgraded the system with DB2 tables to streamline error processing. 1986-1991.
Pratt & Whitney: I was involved in the Parts Provision System development work, which entailed coding numerous DB2/SQL using MICROFOCUS COBOL. Employed at Pratt for 5 years.
