Retired deputy Sheriff Sergeant who works and effectively alone or as part of a team. Due to my experience in a small sheriff’s office supervising all aspects of the Patrol Division of the Delaware county Sheriff’s Office covering a geographical large rural area it provided me exposure to a wide variety tasks and situations for 28 years, and as a result, I possess strong “ in the moment and problem solving and multitasking skills; I am also adept at working within a structured setting as well as in situations where the task at hand is fluctuating and developing and requires at times- innovation to get the job done. I’m a team player and focus on a job “well done’ rather than just getting it done! I am mechanically inclined. Being a “backyard mechanic” and a tinkerer. I am very comfortable with any kind of tool, having a working knowledge of welding ( Mig,Tig, Stick & Gas). I have basic carpentry skills in Framing, Roofing, Plumbing and finish work and assorted other mechanical skills
I'm comfortable with heavy equipment having experience in bulldozer and backhoe operation and a multitude of farm equipment
Professional Experience
Delaware County Sheriffs Office. From march 19th 1984 continuously employed there until retirement in August of 2012. Charged with all supervisory and administrative duties of the Patrol Division to include:
● Scheduling of patrols, and events and specialized details.
● Reviewed reports for quality control and accuracy.
● Wrote and administered Traffic Safety Grants as well as Technology Grants .
● Was instrumental in the initiating of the sheriff’s “Take Home Car Policy” saving the sheriff’s office thousands of dollars in maintenance costs and shortened a deputies response time to critical incidents
● Was instrumental in in installing “State of the art” In Car” dashboard video cameras and integrated report writing and data collection & computer data transfer from the patrol car to the office allowing deputies to spend more time on patrol . Certifications & Education
