My responsibilities were that of Medical Records Designee, which dealt with auditing and thinning charts, CPT/ICD-9 coding, writing care plans for the residents, and Marketing Chairperson of the facility. I began Director of Nursing in Jan. 1987. I supervised approximately 50 employees, dealt with the monthly budget, ordered supplies, was the computer input person that placed the physician's orders in the computer for
all the residents then printed out order sheets, treatment, and medication sheets each month, making any corrections that were needed. I was responsible for 118 residents that resided in the facility. I worked along side with the Admissions Coordinator with the Medicare/Medicaid billing of the patients. Our facility passed annual state inspections with a minimum of
deficiencies. I also assisted the Charge Nurse as needed, was responsible for the upkeep of the OSHA log and the Workman's Compensation claims, as
well as competing all the paper work that was required by the Corporation and State Regulations, to mention a few of my duties of DNS. I then became
ADNS in April of 1988, as the facility obtained certified beds, and this required the DNS to be an RN. In the capacity of ADNS, I continued with most of the above duties as well as assisting the DNS with her duties. Terry
