Worked with STS/OQ company, Oman as a safety Officer Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety inductions are undertaken in accordance with the project specific requirements for all company newly joined workmen& staff and its contractors.

• Attend supervisors TOOLBOX meetings and regular site HSE inspections.

• Work closely with the permit to work areas and coordinate with the job supervisor for the safe PTW requirements.

• Ensure that hazards associated with work activities are explained to workmen and job supervisor.

• Periodical inspections carried out for Flammable storage areas, Cylinder storage areas, Site stores and Fire extinguishers. Inspection findings are recorded and forward to the Project HSE Manager.

• Ensure that personnel shall be competent to perform the given tasks.

• Ensure all confined space activities under control and activities on going as per procedures.

• Monitor compliance with all relevant legislative requirements including passage of information to the project line management and workmen including site staff regarding the amendments and or additions to requirements as they come into effect.

• Disseminate safety information throughout the work place via safety bulletin boards, posters and newsletters etc.,

• Identify and manage hazards and potential incidents.

• Keep safety records& documentation of all relevant HSE records and compile reports to the project HSE Manager.

• Conduct and participate internal and workplace safety audits.

• Carry out work place inspections, all unsafe works and unsafe conditions are advised to immediate site supervisor and the reports to project management for immediate closeout for safe works.

• Make recommendations, promote training, advise and liaise with workmen frequently regarding Health Safety and Environment.
