I also determined the foundation concept and created the 3d finite element deep and shallow foundation model for ball pit walls and mat and footing design for the Pebble Crusher Building. Responsible to design the 6 base plates, shear lugs, pedestal rebar, anchor bolts supporting the 6 columns which support the 500ton surge bin. Responsible to design the wide flange stiffeners and plates for the 500ton pebble surge bin supported by the Pebble Crusher Pedestal structural design done in Houston. Responsible to design the Transfer Tower foundation
Boeing EELV Structural Steel Field Engineer (Washington Group International, Vandenburgh AFB, Lompoc, CA)
I helped qualify and upgrade heavy braced steel connections in a high seismic region, by performing hand calculations on 50 individual connections for the Moving Support Tower (300 ft tall). I helped provided on site Structural Engineering support at the Vandenberg AFB construction site for Four months.
DOE, Mechanical Support and Equipment Bldg. (Washington Group International, Denver, Colorado)
Title I design and Responsible for the supervision of three structural engineers in the preparing and checking of the detailed loading of this building. Convinced Project Management to eliminate outside loading dock to reduce cost and simplify structural analysis. I helped direct the construct ability review board to move underground entrance tunnel seismic isolation joint to a position six feet from the building exterior wall instead of directly adjacent to the wall, in order to facilitate the construction quality of the seismic isolation joint. I helped persuade the Architects to remove intermediate column line in favor of longer span roof trusses to allow flexibility in floor plan and to reduce the number of footings to be constructed. U CNI DOE Q Clearance.
