Job Objective: I am seeking a Radiation Safety Officer position where my skills and about 20 years occupational radiation safety experience can assist in growth of the organization. Professional Experience:

A) 15 years at RAPP-Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. As an Officer In charge of Tritium Counting Laboratory I have 2 years working as an Officer In charge of Tritium Counting Laboratory at RAPP (NPCIL) and discharge the following responsibility:

Ensures operability of Liquid Scintillation Analyzer (LSA) and availability Scintillation cocktail solution.

Review and internal dose monitoring for tritium by tritium measurement in bioassay samples of Radiation Workers.

Detection, measurement, record keeping and trend monitoring of tritium.

To keep calibration and standard tritium source records.

Preparation/revision of reports, procedures & check list related to Bioassay lab functioning. As an Officer In charge of Gamma Spectrometry Laboratory I have 1.5 years working as an Officer of Gamma Spectrometry Laboratory at RAPP NPCIL and discharge the following responsibilities:

Efficiency calibration and energy calibration of the gamma spectrometer.

Qualitative and quantitative measurement of gamma emitting radio-isotopes present in PHT

& Moderator system.

To detect and measure the various types of corrosion and activation products found in filters, strainers, resin, water samples and air samples and radioactive wastes and their record keeping.

Assessment of the stack release of Ar-41, I-131 on daily basis and report preparation of daily, monthly quarterly gaseous releases.

Preparation/revision of reports, procedures & check list related to Gamma spectrometry functioning.

As a General Health Physics Field Officer

I have 2 years working as a General Health Physics Field Officer at RAPP (NPCIL) and discharge the following responsibilities:

Ensures required Radiation Protection man-power in Round the clock shifts.

To review, compile, analyze and to check the correctness and reliability of the radiological data.

Advices for radiation protection measures for reduction of station collective dose.

Preparation of daily report of radiological aspects for review and corrective actions.

Preparation / revision of procedures, checklist & Field Instructions.

Managing of Radiation Hot Spots in nuclear reactor and service building areas. Review of Issuing of New TLD badge, renewal of TLD badges and sending the used TLD badge for dose processing at the end of month.

Arranging the Non routine/urgent processing of TLD badges for control the monthly, quarterly and annual doses. .

Investigating the exposure cases above Investigation level and preparation of report.

Investigating the TLD-DRD dose discrepancy case and TLD lost case and preparing report.

Providing dose data statistic and bioassay sample submission compliance report on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

Designed and developed database management systems for tracking surveillance tasks and emergency preparedness department commitments.

Investigated accidents and incidents across campus and provided emergency responses as needed.

Assisted Emergency Management in the development of emergency exercise scenarios. Developed ALARA Procedures at Nuclear Power Station:

Developed ALARA procedures, the exposure budgeting process and coordinated exposure tracking methods with the Computer Information Management Group.

Projected radiation exposures for outage and operating plant work and implemented the technical aspects of the ALARA program.

Reviewed and evaluated the personnel dosimeter program to insure adherence to the principles of ALARA.

Prepared the annual performance reports of the ALARA program.

As a Radiation Protection Surveyor in round the clock Shift Duty I have 6 years working as a Radiation Protection Surveyor round the clock shift duty at RAPP

(NPCIL) and discharge the following responsibilities:

Radiation survey of Reactor Building & Service Building areas.

Controlling the spread of contamination and preventing the persons from getting exposure above investigation level. .

Ensure floor contamination check of Reactor Building & Service Building areas.

Check-up for whole body doses of individuals involved in radioactive jobs.

Clearing Radiological Work Permit (RWP).

Ensure issue of neutron film badges to individual for shutdown area entry.

Provide coverage of radiological jobs involving high radiation levels.

Pre-job briefing to technician and their job supervision.

Review of the floor contamination log book, pending Electronic Pocket Dosimeter/Direct Reading Dosimeters and abnormal exposure and uptakes.

Trending and analysis of the radiological data.

Radioactive material clearance for transportation, radiation survey of waste and its tagging and labeling.

Tritium analysis of various samples viz (system activity, process water, air samples etc.), assessment of tritium uptake by counting bioassay samples. Gamma spectrometer of various samples and effluent release estimation.

Radiological survey of area outside the plant, solid waste management and solar evaporation facility survey and environmental monitoring.

Survey and contamination check of radioactive material / waste and issue of radiation transit tags and Normal Release Permit (NRP).

B) 5 years at Cobalt Processing Facility

As a Radiological Safety Officer at RAPP Cobalt Facility As a Radiological Safety Officer (RSO) the following Radiation Protection responsibilities discharged by me at the facility:

Give the technical guidance to Health Physics Officers, supervisors and technicians to perform jobs pertaining to radiation protection.
