Responsibilities: complete hearing screenings per ASHA standards to K-12 students in Northeast Nebraska. Make determination for needed follow-up medical or audiologic care as needed. Communicate with students, parents, teachers and staff regarding outcomes of screening and recommendations for educational interventions. Monitor and maintain student’s personal amplification devices, recommend, fit and manage hearing assistance technology including sound field amplification systems, provide and recommend support services and resources to teachers, students and parents, advocate on behalf of students with hearing impairment, collaborate with private sector audiologists, help to facilitate student learning and promote personal responsibility and self- advocacy of students.
