172D Air National Guard, Base Contracting Officer [May 2011 – June 2013] (Work 40 Hours per Week, plus16 Hours per Month and at least 2 weeks per year, National Guard) Administer contracting function to procure commodities, services, and construction projects using simplified acquisition procedures, negotiation skills and other approved techniques. Purchasing Agents are required to monitor the Government Purchase Card Program. Surveillances’ are conducted on each cardholder’s account annually. Each cardholder is required to undergo annual (oral) refresher training conducted by the Contracting Office. Automated contracting systems are used to prepare, process, and analyze transactions. Responsibilities also included:

City of Jackson, Department of Constituent Services and Public Information [October 1997- April 2011] (Work 40-60 Hours per Week)
Constituent Services provides a direct line of communication between the City of Jackson's administration and constituents. This Division serves as an information conduit for government agencies, department heads, employees and the citizens of Jackson. The mission includes a pursuit of all options to assure each citizen equal access to city services.
Responsibilities included assisting the Director with the implementation of office procedures and administrative office duties. Attended events and presented speeches on behalf of the Mayor on several occasions (school programs, church anniversaries, neighborhood meeting, etc.) Responsibilities also include:
Purchase all supplies for the department
Keep departmental budget balanced
Coordinate the Mayor’s bi-monthly Ward meetings
Prepare Calendar of Events for all City sponsored activities initiated by the Mayor’s Office
Supervise interns per semester ( interns worked for a grade)
Adopt-A-School Coordinator for City of Jackson and Poindexter Elementary School (recipient of the Governor's 2007 Partnership Award)
Assist the Director of Constituent Services, Public Information, Action Line, Public Education Government (PEG) Channel and Quality of Life Unit with implementation of office procedures, training and day to day operations of the office.
Process payroll for the department using JIMS and Mozilla Fire Fox software while keeping the department's limited budget balanced and ensuring that employees had the supplies they needed to carry out their daily responsibilities.
Responsible for ensuring each department budget was balanced and had sufficient funds for their requirements. Each quarter the Director and I would meet with the Finance/Budget Division to make sure 25% or less of the budget for a particular division had been allocated for that particular quarter. If money needed to be moved to cover a certain line item I would prepare the CRIB Sheet (a document required to transfer money from one line item to another).
Reserve Police Officer with the City of Jackson, Mississippi (2007-Present (16 Hours per Month): Sworn Law Enforcement Officer; my duties include, enforcing the City and State statues and regulations. Protect and serve the citizens of Jackson while upholding the law. Perform patrol duties, check points, special events assignments and attend classes at the Police Training Academy quarterly to remain current on law procedures.
Maintenance Management Analyst (2R071); U. S. Air National Guard (2007-2011, 16 Hours per Month plus at least 2 weeks per year): 172nd Air National Guard located in Jackson, Mississippi. Monitor Maintenance performance data systems for compliance with establish procedures.
Collect and maintain performance data for use in analysis reports, studies, and problem identification. Assemble information by extracting and tabulating maintenance data in logical presentation sequence, using computerized and manual methods.
Identify and assist in the analysis and study of material deficiencies, man-hours cost, and trend/deviations from standards. Prepare oral and written presentations to keep managers informed of the unit’s progress and strength.
Business Administration (71Lima); U.S. Army Reserves [1989-1995 & 1999-2004, worked 16 Hours per Month plus at least 2 weeks per year)]: My first Reserve Unit was the 412 Engineer Command in Vicksburg, Mississippi. I re-enlisted with 3rd PERSCOM in Jackson, Mississippi in October 1999. Duties included preparing reports, letters, military documents, NCOER's (Non-Commissioned Officers Evaluation Reports) and travel orders; secretary to the Colonel and supervised soldiers on several training exercises.
I deployed to the Middle East February 2003 - April 2004 as NCOIC (Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge) of Casualty Reporting. I have deployed to Kuwait, Germany, Korea, Hawaii and several US cities on military assignments.
