WORK EXPERIENCE

SENIOR PRODUCTION ENGINEER – (WELLS PROJECT TEAM LEADER)

PETRONAS, MALAYSIA / September 2018 – February 2022

Execution Team Leader for Installation of Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP) in Oil and Gas Wells (WI, Oil and Gas Wells) -Provided low-cost strategic solution by using RTP technology to restore idle wells back in a safe and cost-effective method without pulling out existing completions. This can be achieved by utilizing Coil tubing unit, which enables fitting in locations half the size of a workover rig.

Provided expert advice on improvement opportunities & applications of new technologies such as Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe, SolidClenz, Robust Solid Dissolver, Grafted Bentonite (RPM) to the asset teams.

Identified workover/well stimulation candidates in multi-discipline team well reviews. Ensured all the technical activities are in line with the HSE policies and procedures.

Conducted engineering experiments and mockup/yard tests to capture associated risks and improved or modified completion equipment, procedures and offshore deployment operations.

Managed and provided technical supports for enhancement of the base production through asset/ reservoir management, new projects, wellbore management (optimizing ESP, SRPs, plunger lift).

Recommended and ensured the safest and the most cost-effective methods of optimization were utilized, through well surveillance, monitoring well pump performances, and troubleshooting etc.

Reviewed, assessed and implemented workover, recompletion and well intervention operations during the planning and operational phases at the onshore rig site for numerous wells and implemented management strategies to control cost and enhanced profitability by exceeding the production targets.

Monitored and manage the well integrity process ensuring the wells are operated within their design limits and facilitating risk assessments.

Completed more than 90 major minor well works including artificial lift selection, frack solutions, and new technology implementation

Reviewed, evaluated and executed well stimulation opportunities at the onshore rig site by successfully using acidizing through packer; acidizing using rock salt or ball sealers; PinPoint Injection (PPI), BLUESPARK® technology, StimGun propellant etc. Also, performed and reviewed recompletion task by finding uphole potentials by utilizing hydraulic fracking; acid frack; perf and Gas Gun etc.

Electrical Submersible pump: - Designed/reviewed ESP sizing based on PROSPER modelling. Experienced with various ESP modifications to achieve maximum run life under various adverse downhole conditions. SENIOR PRODUCTION ENGINEER – (BRITANNIA OPERATOR LIMITED)

CHEVRON UPSTREAM EUROPE, ABERDEEN, UK (GAS CONDENSATE FIELD) / October 2011 – October 2012

Worked hand in hand with Conoco operations team on daily production engineering activities for condensate gas wells including daily reporting, well monitoring, allocation, surveillance and troubleshooting.

Devised strategies to maximize value over the life of field with appropriate use of IPM modelling. Managed contractors and Conoco engineers during Re-perforation Campaign through candidate selection & optimization.

Provided technical support to onshore cross functional team and travelled offshore when required to assist the team based in offshore.

Conducted direct business critical systems reviews and quantified business risks associated with asset such as, optimized shut in and production schedules reducing LPO due to “condensate banking effects” etc.

Recommended and applied new technology to achieve performance improvement- Focal point for the Velocity String and Capillary String installation campaigns, Foamer chemical skid installation, comingled dual wellhead separation project for backpressure reduction across the pipeline, etc.

Coached & assisted peer engineers (Chevron/Conoco) in understanding the PROSPER & GAP workflow and then coached how to construct PROSPER models (built all 52 PROSPER models from scratch). Also wrote Britannia Integrated Asset Modeling (IAM) workflow document.

Developed detailed completion procedures for Slot recovery, New Well Completion (Sidetrack) and Workovers. Served as liaison between D&C, asset and project Teams to identify reservoir management objectives and develop viable alternatives. Provided rig site quality assurance during execution of stimulation operations and installation of completions hardware. Provided day-to-day support to D&C Superintendent during all phases of completions and trouble shooting. Responsibilities included:

Composed HSE Notification and optimized fit for purpose completion cost estimates (A.F.E.)

Planned and selected completion tools & vendors, making it available on time and suitable for the well. Placed Work Orders for required completion equipment & materials.

Designed and provided rig support during the deployment of Upper and Lower completions for workovers and new drills.

Ran sensitivities using PROSPER with practical applicability risk analysis.

Utilized well planning software. E.g., Wellplan (Torque & Drag modelling), Wellcat (Tubing Stress Analysis).

Conducted Complete Well on Paper (CWOP) and Risk and Uncertainty Management System (RUMS) sessions as appropriate for workovers, new drills and slot recovery for all completion operations.

Supervised of completion operations and E-line/PLT operations at the rig site

Alba 16/26-A62Y ACV Side-track - Completed longest ever 8 ” horizontal hole section in Alba history (at that time) which included successful slotted liner, sand screen and gravel pack completion.

OFFSHORE/ONSHORE PRODUCTION ENGINEER

CHEVRON UPSTREAM EUROPE, ABERDEEN, UK (HEAVY OIL FIELD) / March 2007 – October 2009

Supported the Captain asset team to meet and exceed its Business Plan production targets and took full responsibility of handling production-engineering works for more than 80 Platform and Subsea wells, which included Water Injectors, Electrical Submersible Pump and Hydraulic Submersible Pump wells. This position included a 15 month offshore rotational job as part of a team consisting of control room operators and an operations team leader to deliver following tasks:

Production strategies: - Worked as a team with CROs and OTL’s to draft and implement optimum and achievable production strategies based on the equipment availability, reservoir condition and flare constraint.

oPro-actively identified and coordinated production engineering-related well problems to minimize production losses and ensured strict adherence to UK law and company HE&S policy.

oPerformed daily deferment analysis to identify priority focus areas for operations, construction and maintenance work scopes. Followed up with RCAs and capture lessons learned to prevent deferment recurrence.

oFacilitated cross-shift transfer of lessons learned and best practices regarding plant and well operations.

Reservoir management: - Ensured adequate reservoir pressure support were maintained by monitoring downhole gauges. Organized and lead weekly well review meeting with reservoir engineers to address any concerns.

Well performance analysis: - Carried out regular checks on well trends to assess pump performance parameters; proactively recognized and dealt with unusual operating conditions.

Well testing: - Ensured all the platform/subsea wells were tested regularly and validated using PROSPER. Later, communicated to onshore/offshore teams in a timely manner about the test results. Subsequently, well models were continually updated monthly.

Production Data Acquisition: - Carried out daily reconciliation of previous 24 hours production data and updated allocation database to reflect well by well production, injection, BS&W, GORs, plant and production efficiency etc.

Well Work: - Ensured ongoing and future well works were prioritized and supported from offshore/onshore. Ensure threats to production were identified early and minimized.

oWorked with key asset stakeholders to prepare Decision Support Packages (DSP) for wells requiring workovers and presented to Decision Review Board (DRB) for approval.

oCo-ordinated new well commissioning and well cleanups between onshore/ offshore minimizing the impact to the plant, production and environment.

System Improvement Team:

oLed and managed the water injection system improvement team (vendors, stakeholders, maintenance and reliability groups) to reduce lead times on system equipment availability including critical spares (Spare motor, Spare Pump and Gear box etc.).

Shell: Anasuria wells – Built Integrated Asset Models (IAM) by utilizing PROSPER and GAP softer in order to evaluate and recommended production enhancement opportunities.

Shell – Well inflow analysis to determine actual well performance with respect to ideal performance (WIQI and LIQI analysis) to develop a tool to allow well inflow performance monitoring and mechanical skin calculation.

BG Group Blake Infill wells and BHP Billiton Zamzama gas wells – Assisted in sand failure analysis and provided recommendations on future sand face completion options, including well operating limits to prevent sand production and minimize erosion risk.

Tullow Oil – Well modeling for Chachar completion review using PROSPER and assisted to identify the preferred completion strategy for the initial Chachar field development.
