Marshall Education Charter School (Grades Pre-K – 8), Principal - District of Columbia PS

Lead school to achieve AYP for three consecutive years. Responsibilities: Overall operation of the school, accountable for the performance of the students on state and national assessments .As the principal I was responsible for teaching and learning in the school (Elementary and Middle School), monitoring of instruction, ensuring that teachers improve their teaching, effectively evaluate instruction and assist teachers as they work to improve instructional techniques. I supervised the instructional programs of the school, evaluating lesson plans and observing classes (teaching, as duties allow) on a regular basis to encourage the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials consistent with research on learning and child growth and development. Marshall Education Charter School was the only school in DCPS selected for President Bush to visit and read to students.
