EDUCATION

Eisenhower High School

General high school education, with an emphasis on sports and fun. But, I also

had a standard job from the age of 16 years old. And before that, I mowed

lawns and did small jobs for neighbors.

Graduated Class of 1984

Southern California Surveyors Joint apprenticeship - Local 12 Union

Operating Engineers

Trained in the layout of high-rise buildings, roads, and freeways, residential

development, dams, waterways, pipelines, airports, tunnels, and commercial &

industrial developments. Do specialized work, boundaries, ALTA/ACSM Land

Title Surveys, Deformation Surveys, Hydrographic Surveys. Perform

inspections and As-Built Surveys, Topographic Surveys. Work with Global

Positioning Systems (GPS).

June 1985 - October 1989

Riverside City College

Specifically Learning Deaf Culture as a subject, while learning to

communicate using American Sign Language. I took three semesters of

American Sign Language. And Two semesters of Deaf Culture in America.

Which gave me the foundation of ASL to communicate with many of the deaf

cultures while living in Hawaii. Just having the ability to sign has helped in

public as well as on the job and even in the hospital once or twice. I’m glad I

learned ASL to communicate. I also learned about a whole new culture I would

have never taken the time to get to know. I have met a lot of great people in

the deaf culture. My ex-wife was an LCSW in private practice for the deaf

community in the state of Hawai’i. And we had a lot of deaf families that I was

able to communicate with. And I have been to places where someone in the

deaf culture needed a little help with communicating to someone hearing.

September 1994 - June 1996

SKILLS

Working online using a MacBook Pro from the purchase in Oct 2018 and using

it as a work computer from June 2019 to the present. Currently, it has a macOS

Monterey and uses an iPad Pro as a second screen since June 2019. Including

a 4-in-1 printer. Experience with Google Sheets, Google Spreadsheets, as well

as using many of the templates Google uses in business. I am currently taking

online classes on coding and computer programming and have some

experience with early Civil CAD.

I have a relatively new online store. I manage it and work it in my free time. It

has helped me to learn and apply tools I can use elsewhere in a remote

position.

My past leadership, managerial, and/or ownership roles, have given me the

confidence needed in an online or remote position. Once I can learn the tools

needed for a given job I can start to understand and develop ways to resolve

those issues that can arise. As a business owner/manager/foreman, I

understand the importance of doing professional work in a timely fashion. Not

to mention always having the right tools with you to get the job done in a

timely professional manner.

In June 2005, while doing preventive maintenance service on a domestic

solar hot water system I had a roofing accident, I fell, and landed on my feet as

well as shattering my left tibia with a spiral fracture. I have had 11 surgeries on

my left knee since June 22, 2005.

Since my accident, I have stayed in contact with the solar industry doing small

jobs here and there. Helping friends with solar power. And have tried to keep

my finger on the pulse of what is happening in the solar industry.

I believe in giving 110% to anything I do, especially if it’s something I believe in.

I have had to make some changes in my lifestyle as a result of unfortunate

extenuating circumstances. Now, with a new paradigm, a new lifestyle comes,

fortunately, new forms of employment. And with this opportunity, I’m ready to

give +110% to this endeavor and future endeavors to come.

Aloha and Mahalo for Your Time,

Robert Del Mar Bostwick
