Customer Services Supervisor Hytek Finishes 2003-2005
Hytek purchased Surtech in 2003, closed down the facility and I moved into the newly created position of Customer Services Supervisor. My responsibilities included; managing the transportation department (truck drivers and routes), shipping, packaging, planning and certification functions for the shop. Communicated and handled customer issues, help establish goals and objectives for the company, ensured that those goals and objectives were communicated and implemented on the shop floor. Supervised 30 people over 2 shifts.
General Manger Surftech Finishes 2001-2003
Responsible for the overall operation of the facility including the P&L for Surtech. Managed 95 people, including 5 managers. Oversaw customer service, on time delivery, process improvement and lean initiatives were among my many areas of responsibilities. The learning curve in metal finishing included learning processes, chemical maintenance and safety, as well as unique characteristics of customers. Oversaw all store operations and staff of 35 people. Specific duties included; management/administration of 7 departments, pharmacy operation, customer service, training and motivating employees, opening and closing of facility, merchandising, purchasing/ordering of basic and seasonal merchandise, and store security.
