Professional Experience

Assessed, diagnosed and managed patients along with regular ANC care in a high- volume rural hospital with around 300 OPD patients every day and 9500 deliveries in a year. Honed expertise in normal deliveries, abnormal deliveries, ventouse deliveries, sero-positive pregnancy, legal medical induction and surgical termination of pregnancies, high risk pregnancy and labor management as well as ICU care for critically ill obstetric patients. Worked in a dedicated Endoscopy unit for a year. Performed diagnostic as well as therapeutic procedures including, DHL, Operative laproscopy, Total laproscopic hysterectomy, Laproscopic myomectomy amongst others.

Operated 600-700 cases of LSCS including high risk cases involving previous LSCS, APH, placenta previa and vasa previa along with exposure to serial devascularization procedures, obstetric hysterectomies as well as traumatic bladder and bowel injury repair. Proficient in managing cases of severe pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, APH, PPH, severe anaemia, heart disease, previous LSCS labor as well as multiple gestation. Operated cases of ruptured ectopic gestation and uterine rupture. Operated around 40 cases of obstetric hysterotomy. Operated cases of cervical encirclage through vaginal route with successful pregnancy outcome. Operated 18 cases of hysterectomies, through abdominal and vaginal routes. Performed minor endoscopic procedures like hysteroscopy, laparoscopic tubal ligation as well as experienced in assisting various major laparoscopic procedures like hysterectomy, prolapse repair, post hysterectomy vault prolapse repair, unification surgery etc. Assisted 2 cases of vaginoplasty under guidance of plastic surgeon. Dissertation: An analysis of SAP II and APACHE II scoring systems to predict the prognosis of critically ill obstetric ICU patients in a rural population.

ICMR STS: Comparative study to test the efficacy of turmeric in the acceleration of process of healing of various lower extremity ulcers, when used as a sterile dressing agent. Published a paper on ‘Study of socio demographic and clinical profile of maternal near miss at a tertiary care teaching hospital’.

Undertook a training programme and hands on workshop in M-CTG organized by Jiv Daya Foundation, Dallas, USA in 2019.
