Director of Human Resources

Manage and oversee all aspects of Human Resources. Develops and implements HR policies and programs and manages all aspects of employee relations and staff development. Manages staffing and recruiting, organizational development, performance management, training, compensation and benefits administration. Serves as member of Leadership Team consisting of CEO, CFO, Director of Operations and Director of Development; Reports directly to the CEO.

Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with State and Federal employment-related laws and regulations. Creates, updates and maintains Employee Handbook. Manages actions and proceedings brought against Aging Matters arising in connection with employment, benefits, and workers compensation.

Works with Board of Directors as member of the Leadership Team in the design, development and execution of the long and short term goals of the Strategic Plan.

Conducts high level investigations on ethics and policy violations including sexual harassment and discrimination providing appropriate recommendation based on findings

Supports Directors, Managers, Supervisors in processing bi-weekly payroll using Paycor / ADP and acts as an approver in the bi-weekly payroll processing

Insures timely completion, accuracy and maintenance of employee personnel files, I-9 records, drug and alcohol screenings, background investigation results, and other personnel records.

Serves as coach and resource for Administration, staff Program Directors Program Managers and Supervisors in handling employee issues and assist them in counseling employees, conducting evaluations and staff training.

Creates, updates and maintains job descriptions. Performs recruiting functions, including posting jobs internally and externally as well as screening job applicants.

Extends job offers, sends potential new hires for background screenings and drug testing while monitoring responses. Insures all required new hire paperwork is completed, E-Verify, license checks, contacts references and orients new employees to the Aging Matters Employee Handbook / policies and employee benefits.

Insures HRIS database records are accurate, up to date and audit ready. Answers routine questions from employees and applicants regarding employment procedures, policies, benefits and other HR related topics.

Oversees employee 90 days and annual evaluation process, to insure timely completion, fairness and accuracy. Provides evaluation coaching and training to new and current managers/supervisors.

Reviews and approves the payments of benefits invoices, works with accounting department to process Benefits enrollments and changes adhering to timing and eligibility guidelines.

Distributes family medical leave, ADA leave, and other qualified leave paperwork to employees that qualify. Monitors the leave time and medical reports from the attending physician(s).

Secures the paperwork and investigated the details surrounding an on-the-job accidents and contacts Aging Matters in Brevard’s Workers’ Compensation carrier regarding accidents.

Inform and advise CEO regarding employee relations issues and the urgency of the issues.

Oversees the administration of employee terminations, grievance and other difficult situations in a sensitive, fair and respectful manner, working closely with legal counsel, supervisors and directors

Conducts Stay and Exit Interviews, analyzing responses and advising CEO of patterns and trends.
