Marine Operations & Quality Assurance: Day to Day marine operations of vessels as vessel’s master. Pre-emptively drive strategic HSSEQ alignments i nto l egal regulations, safety & environmental compliance and coordinate KPI enhancements on ships, with hands-on operational/sailing experience on Oil

(i ncluding MR, VLCC, Aframax, Suezmax tankers), Bulk Carriers & Containers. Handling of online SMS structure to ease out paper work burden on ship staff. Handling the i nternal /external audits in annual ship board I SM/I SO/I SPS compliance, supplemented by shipboard Training (T&A) process targeting quality KPI’s.

Marine Assurance: Handling of pre-vetting and vetting (SIRE, Non-SIRE & CDI) and safety compliance t raining & audits with 100% success rate for Oil tankers/bulk carriers. Successful Port state control inspections with AMSA, USCG and authorities under the PARIS/TOKYO MOU. Successfully handled the annual ship board t raining and audit process i ntroduced with the quality manager to cohesively i ntegrate the ship management & vetting activity with shore based KPI’s. Assisted in budgeting and repair specifications for the drydocking of the bulk carrier, containers, tanker vessels.

Coordinating with charterers, brokers and agents for cargo stowage for optimization of cargo intake.

Carried out cargo analysis for various cargoes for safe carriage as per IMSBC code.

Managing and maintainence of the vessel’s equipments.

Arranging in cleaning of cargo holds.

Projects & special assignments (brief summary)

1. Management of Change (MOC) process and Task Risk Assessments (TRA) with 100% i ntegration over world-wide offices to align i nternal safety & human element driven processes with company KPI’s. & customer (Oil Major) expectations. 2. Participated in the Workshop on Human Rights and Law of the Sea at IMLI (IMO) in collaboration with the Stockton Center for I nternational Law, U.S Naval War College.

3. Handling of SIRE ( Chevron, Shell, Exxon,Total, Vopak) & CDI inspection routine for the vessels to improve commercial viability due to unplanned inspections. 4. Assisted in setting procedures, t raining & guidelines for claims recovery processes as an Owners representative, successfully coordinated Hull & Machinery cases with insurers (Norwegian Hull Club). Assisted the investigation review board (I RB) to support i nvestigation report processes and corrective action strategy for high potential incidents.

5. Technical t ransformation of I SO i ntegrated documented SMS to online ERP management software (PARIS) ECDIS Mentor for paperless navigation. 6. Attended the symposium to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Malta’s i nitiative on the Law of the sea at the United Nations General Assembly, at Valletta Malta.

Attended the Seminar on Maritime Transport Policy delivered by Mr. Jonathan Pace (Head, Programme Management and Maritime Transport Policy, Technical Cooperation Division, IMO) and Dr. George Theocharidis (Associate Professor of Maritime Law & Policy, World Maritime University) to the IMLI Class of 2017-2018. 8. Attended the Malta Colloquium on a draft i nternational i nstrument on foreign j udicial sales of ships and their recognition.

I ntroduced on board pre-vetting t raining & i nspections program, to prepare ships/staff for Oil Majors’ audits for tankers and port state control i nspections for bulk carriers.

Conduct I SM, I SPS, Safety and Navigation internal audits under the I ntegrated Management System (IMS) and follow up of non-conformities.

Worked as an independent auditor/surveyor conducting I SM Navigational external audit (requirement as per TMSA 3), Pre purchase i nspections, Safety and Environmental audits onboard ships.

d) Claims avoidance/ Loss Prevention:

Worked towards avoidance of cargo quantity claims arising from carriage of ore cargoes by monitoring the TML (t ransportable moisture l imit) of the cargo prior and during the cargo loading operation.

Worked towards avoidance of cargo quality claims arising from carriage of Steel products by monitoring the ventilation of cargo holds to avoid damage to the cargo due to sweat during the voyage.

Worked towards avoidance of cargo quantity claims arising from carriage of rice in bags by reducing the spillage, pilferage during the cargo discharging operation in Nigeria.

Worked towards avoidance of cargo quality claims arising from carriage of yellow peas (grain in bulk) by monitoring the weather during the cargo l oading and discharging operation.

Advising the owners of the vessels to inform the insurance underwriters, prior to crossing of trading limit by the vessels during the voyage (specially during great circle sailing in the North Pacific ocean. Working summary
