My educational background is backed by 27 years of experience implementing strategic business and management solutions for the companies I have worked with. I have successfully performed as a Sales Representative and Field Service Manager of 15 Electronic Engineer Technicians under my supervision. Since 1992 I have been working as a Medical Sales Representative, experience that allowed me to fully develop my sales, marketing and promotion skills in an industry where I have received several recognitions due to my hard effort and excellent consistent sales performance.
Since 1999, I have held the position of Pharmaceutical Specialist, Medical Care 2 with AstraZeneca, where I was promoted to manage, implement and promote products in the Gastrointestinal, Cardiovascular and Respiratory area. In 2008 year, I was promoted to Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist –Hospital 1 to be on charge of the Cardiovascular Hospital of Puerto Rico and Caribbean, the largest and most important cardiovascular hospital of the Caribbean. My responsibilities included the promotion of company products in the Anti-platelets and lipids therapeutic areas, Brilinta and Crestor. As a Hospital Specialist, my promotion was directed to Interventional Cardiologist, Invasive and General Cardiologist, Fellows, Residents, Attending Physicians, Medical Directors, Administrative Directors, and Lead Pharmacists. This market includes Accounts like the Veteran Administration Healthcare System of San Juan and the Caribbean and three Teaching Institutional Hospitals. During 2017, I was enrolled in AstraZeneca Oncology Mentoring program in preparation for any new position in this therapeutic area. I had an interview for a new Immuno-oncology position being the first finalist in a very intensive process for that position.
At the end of year 2017, I requested a position in Dallas Texas and I worked here in the Main Land in a similar position as a Hospital Specialist promoting Brilinta and Farxiga from the Diabetes Franchise. As a Medical Sales Hospital Specialist, I have been exposed to and responsible of the implementation of marketing strategies in response to the Affordable Care Act. I also introduced specialized products in pharmaceutical formulary impacting the whole Puerto Rican market served by patient populations impacted by Federal Government medical funds. My work ethics direct me to approach product implementation strategies sensitive of governmental guiding policies while securing that the healthcare delivery is one based on the available clinical evidence coupled by the highest quality and cost efficiency that the markets demand. During year 2017 I received the most important Sales Award from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, reserved only for the Best of the Best Sales Employees, “The Circle of Excellence Sales Award" due to my exceptional Sales Performance in that year. In the first half of 2018 I received the CEO Award for Brilinta Sales, my most important product.
