Responsibilities Undertaken:

Responsible for the inspection of all welding works in the project covering pressure piping, and structural steel in accordance with approved WPS/PQR and Applicable Industry code Practice, QCP,ITP.

Inspection of piping material identification as per isometric Drawing/material takes off before fabrication, and coordination with PMI crew members.

QA/QC Inspection and proper documentation to ensure correct Fabrication, Installation and Testing of all the mechanical work related to the contract job.

Study Technical specification of the project to reflect welding and piping requirements in drawings and all recommendation to concern department.

Co-ordinate with client’s project inspection unit for necessary project inspection for witnessing/Hold points.

Prepare and check the quantity and quality of the welding consumables to meet the requirement of each project.

Inspects drawing designs, and specifications for boilers and other vessels Inspects materials used, and other factors affecting condition and operation of equipment.

To handle various types of weld joint preparations, Fit-ups, welder Qualification Test (WQT). Welding procedure Qualification Test (WPQ) using various code, Standards, Specification and Drawings.

Welding and quality testing for liquid and gas vessels (both mild steel and stainless steel).

Coordinate with NDT Personnel regarding day to day NDE requirement.

Coordinate repair of defective welds and NDT after repair.

Verify the use of correct procedure during fabrication & construction.

Perform material inspection to ensure that correct material

Perform fit- up inspection.

Check welding parameters and verify compliance with approved WPS.

Verify that all applicable equipment are calibrated and has valid certification.

Inspection and confirmation of welding consumable as per specification.

Verify the consumable storage backing and its issue control etc.

Having knowledge in SAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW and GTAW welding.

Perform in process welds inspection.

Issue NCR (Non-conformance Report) for violation found during inspection.

Ensure preheating is done prior to welding & Verify the temperature.

Duties & Responsibilities Handled During Cold Cut:

Preparing cold cut, Revalidation procedure as per the standards.

Preparation procedure is carried out in accordance with the applicable SAUDI ARAMCO General instruction,Engineering standards & procedures & construction safety manual

Should get procedure approval to SAPMT, FIELD SERVICES, and OPERATIONS INSPECTION OR OTHER SAUDI ARAMCO approving committee before starting any cold cutting jobs.

Follow the safety requirements start in SAUDI ARAMCO SAES-L-125-safety instruction sheet, construction safety manual & other related SAUDIA ARAMCO standards.

Individual involved in HYDRO TEST are responsible for complying with enforcing safety instructions.

Ensure safe working of test manifolds and equipment by pretesting &checking prior to actual testing.

Preparing procedure for cold-cut revalidation & tie-in procedures for approval.

Materials Inspection:

Inspection of pipes, pipe fittings etc. in accordance with ASTM and API standards.

Review and approval of vendor’s inspection reports as per the client specification and vendor ITP.

Personal Experience:

Knowledge in referring the standards ASME section B31.3 and API-1104.

Knowledge about the receiving, handling and storage of piping materials.

Knowledge in piping documentation.

Review of test package.

Day to day co-ordination and regulation inspection activities with third party and client.

Final visual inspection has been performed before and after post weld heat treatment.
