Designing for EMI Compliance
Each module (Communication Module: CAN, LIN Transceiver, Ethernet, Flexray..,) (Power Supply Modules: ATIC139, ATIC140, ATIC239, ATIC280..,) has constraints to follow when using specific modules in our projects.
When defining the height limitation in MCAD data, ensures to keep thermal components in board edge & away from critical circuits to ensure good cooling.
ESD capacitors placement close to each connector pin.
Differential pairs are routed together, on the same PCB layer, with controlled 50 Ω impedance to ground.
Group Length matching of critical signals and differential pair signals.
Clock and differential pairs are routed at least 3 times the track width away from other traces.
Routing clock traces as short as possible, avoiding loops, minimized the stubs and sharp corners.
Ensure traces have an unbroken reference ground plane.
