Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect machinery, equipment, and working conditions in industrial or other setting to make sure compliance with occupational safety health regulations.

Observe workers for defining use of prescribed safety equipment, like glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators and clothing.

Inspect specified areas for fire-prevention equipment and other safety first-aid supplies and demonstrate use of safety equipment.

Test working areas for noise, toxic, and other hazards, using decibel meter, gas detector, and light meter.

Conduct weekly toolbox meetings and prepare report of findings with recommendations for corrective action.

Investigate accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures developing safety program.
