Work Experience
Gary Cheeseman Construction
Manual Laborer – Westpoint, IN – March, 2011 – June, 2011
Duties included digging postholes, running wires, laying pipes, elevation survey team, as well as working with a team to maintain all heavy equipment needed for the job.
Indiana Packers
Livestock – Delphi, IN – August 2011 – May 2012
Duties included maintaining the welfare and safety of the livestock, first and foremost. We would also run over 7000 pigs per shift (10 hours) to our Cut Floor where the livestock was then processed and sent to our freezer team. A physically demanding job that also required diligence with the number of livestock being run to the next floor. Dealing with temperamental pigs was a try in patience and has helped me grow as a worker.
Radioshack
Cashier – Alexandria, VA – November 2012 – February 2013
Duties included working with customers in an attempt to get them what they needed. A knowledge of the electronic items in the store was necessary to facilitate their ideas into answers when dealing with all of the micro differences in product. I’d also handle drawer deposits and restocking shelves as needed.
Lafayette Glass
Warehouse Associate – Lafayette, IN – May 2013 – September 2013
Duties included properly setting and transporting car windows and windshields safely to its destination, as well cutting glass into shape for processing. Setting electronics on bare glass has a very narrow margin of error and, as a company that produced as much as Lafayette Glass did, had to be done at a swift pace without mistake.
LA Fitness
Janitor - November 2013 - February 2014
Duties included maintaining and cleaning the entirety of the gym and its facilities. Generally the gym was short-staffed and had only a single janitor on duty and the company had a reputation to uphold for being one the cleanliest gyms to use increasing the demand for quality control when it came to making sure all equipment was wiped down and sanitized after being used by a customer.
Nation Tire and Battery
General Service Technician/Flat-rate Automotive Technician - May 2015 - May 2020
Duties included oil changes, tire rotations, repairs, dismounting and installing new tires, balancing wheels, as well as locating and identifying and potential hazards for customers regarding their vehicle. This was my first time ever working on motor vehicles so the learning curve was steep but I was eventually promoted to Flat-rate technician where my duties shifted to more practiced jobs such as replacing brakes, tie rods, struts, control arms, axles, oil pans, head gaskets, etc. National Tire and Battery is not a dealership, meaning every make or model of vehicle could potentially come through our doors requiring an array of knowledge on different vehicles or an array of deep searches to find solutions to a problem when no answer was present intially.
Amazon
Warehouse Associate - October 2020 - February 2021
Duties included picking product from the floor to transport to shipping as well as packaging product in a timely fashion. Amazon is a large company with extremely high demands for its customers, such as timely delivery. Serving as many people as Amazon does, especially in a time where online shopping has taken over, the work load at any facility/warehouse is massive. This job required a high pace of work as well as striving for execellence in proper label placement, packaging, and product care to maintain a happy consumer base.
Carmax
Business Office Associate - March 2021 - April 2021
Duties include proper management of vehicle titles, communications with state DMV, securing vehicle loan/lease payoffs, as well as providing quality customer service. Carmax works as a close team providing services that require each department to uphold the same standard of work to function properly. Each team member has a role to fill and each role must be filled properly and timely. Their is very little margin for error.
Big-O Tires
Sales Associate/Service Writer - April 2021 - September 2021
Duties included working with customers and assessing their problems while providing a solution. I was also tasked with meeting quotas centering around the sale of particular items determined every month.
Skills
I believe my skills vary drastically. I have worked a number of manual labor jobs as well customer service. These jobs have made me patient and dedicated to taking a step back to make the right choice instead the most expedient option. I work hard and adapt to all new challenges while doing my best to be a little bit better every day. I don't take sore moments at work home with me, I instead regroup and reassess to come back refreshed to tackle the challenge.
