PROJECTS
International Baccalaureate
Working with a building - wide committee, I instituted the rigorous and
exhaustive International Baccalaureate School at Kenmore East High
School. This multi-year commitment required district, staff, and
community buy - in, and it is still in existence to this day (and thriving!)
Big Picture School
The motto for the Big Picture School is “Educating Learners One at a
Time.” This alternative environment serves non-traditional learners for
whom the regular school setting has not been successful. Students work
on portfolios, serve in internships in the community, and graduate with a
full Regents diploma. It has been a pleasure to build this school from the
ground up and watch it thrive. In fact, it has been so successful that we
were forced to move the students to a new building.
Interact
As a teacher, I founded the Interact program through the local Rotary
Club, which featured international travel and hosting students from
around the globe. Destination exchanges included Belarus, Australia,
Germany, France, Mexico, and China. This is still in existence today.
