PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
SPS TECHNOLOGY (Sandwich Plate System), London, UK
Lloyd’s Register has called SPS “the first new materials technology for heavy engineering in 150 years” and described it as “bringing the maritime and civil engineering industries to the threshold of a new era.”
SPS is comprised of two steel sheets bonded together with a polyurethane core. Prefabricated SPS panels are used in new and replacement construction for floors, cores, foundations, bridges, stadia, blast and ballistic protection, marine and offshore installations, and new ship building projects. Examples: London Aquatics Center for the 2012 Olympics, 2016 Olympics, rehab of Carnegie Hall, award-winning Dawson Bridge in Canada and the Pont Rouge Bridge in Luxembourg.
Senior Vice President North America, 2016 – Present
Responsible for structuring SPS North America for a partnership agreement with a US steel company and completing board presentations and organizational structure to support this endeavor. Additionally, working towards agreements with fabrication and construction partners to support SPS production for the US bridge market. Responsible for approvals and expansion into military applications.
Completed Mars launch tower for ULA/NASA at Cape Canaveral.

Tasked with introducing and gaining acceptance and approvals in the US Federal Highway bridge market and Canadian bridge market. Completed testing and installation of state demonstration projects throughout the US with federal support. Also worked on approvals for specialty projects in the private sector, including the Space Needle, Intel fab facilities and other tech buildings.
Completed federal acceptance in 7 years (typically a 17-year process).
Co-Chair of ABC (Accelerated Bridge Construction) – Federal Highway program.

Determined that company should either overhaul the division with a new structure and sales strategy or sell the division. Presented both options to company’s board, resulting in a decision to sell the division.
