Key Responsibility

Despatch / Logistics and Distribution Operation

Looking out logistics & Despatch Operation.

Handling Outbound logistics management with fleet planning and execution.

To Monitor daily dispatch of Cement from plant to market as per allocation /Targets

Product wise dispatch monitoring,Focus on clearing sales order on FIFO basis, to service urgent orders from plant on priority basis.

Ensure timely execution of orders and delivery of cement from Plant and Warehouses.

Supervising transportation and warehouse management for outbound material

Designing Logistics interventions to carry out the smooth Dispatch of Cement.

Planning and execution of Cement dispatch as per the monthly and daily planning keeping in view market scenario

Co-ordination with different department like Production, Marketing officials, M.O.’s, Dealers and Transporters to dispatch the optimum/ Targeted Qty on daily basis

Proper and regular coordination with plant, HO, Primary & secondary transporters, RTO, Excise Deptt, Truck Vendors, and other departments . for smooth despatch .

Freight Review /Revision/Fixation by way of Tendering and Obtain Optimum/Minimum freight by negotiations with the contractors.

Developing fleet owner and creating robust transport facility for evacuation.

Regular Developing of new transport Vendor for smooth operation as per business Plan.

Target Vs Actual dispatch Ratio to be minimum 100%.

Target VS Actual comparison daily basis.

Timely Despatch all Order, and Maintain Order Service time to be less than decided standard.

Ensure defined Set Targets (100%) are to be achieved by each Transporter for execution of all orders.

Handling freight bill passing process.

Compliance of statutory commercial documentation in exit documentation i.e. Excise, sales tax, deemed exports transaction with logistics vendors (transporters)

Ensure Logistics cost control on TDC ( Total Delivered Cost ).

Analysis of Budget VS Actual lead trends

Monitoring Plant TAT.

Audit, Legal & Statutory Compliance –Ensure all audit, legal & statutory compliance are in order and timely complete.

Packing Plant Operation

Standardize ( SOP ) all System / Process and compare industry benchmark.

Fleet / Resource Mobilisation

Communication of fleet requirement to transporters with deployment schedule. Mobilising resources for spot priorities. Alignment of road despatches to rake arrival forecast on shift to shift basis.

Coordination with packing plant for grade change / Bag change and forecasting for next shift

Instruction / guideline to the shift person for despatch priority in the shift.

Periodic review of bag inventory and initiate need for replenishment or revise requirement basis market requirements.

Primary & Secondary Freight Management

Tendering, Liaise and Negotiate with transporter / contractors for Primary and secondary freight costs and delivery within timelines on all India basis.

Cost management: : Reviews, revises freights, (primary & Secondary), CFA rates, etc

Responsible for identification, selection & appointment of transporters + C & F A

Route mapping and lead computation/ validation.Analysis of freights basis PMT/Km.

Benchmarking of the freights in the cluster

Computation of the operational cost of fleet & alignment of freights. Ensure optimal route for secondary deliveries from warehouses.

Primary & Secondary freight determination, appointment & selection of mode of transport based on economic rate basis.

Finalise contract agreement with Transporters.

Implement company logistics strategy to the SU including warehousing, transport & coordination

Railway Transportation, Coordination & Management

Plan and Ensure Smooth operation of inbound and outbound railway logistics.

Ensure availability of rakes as per requirement.

Smooth Railway siding operation. Ensure no detention charges. Smooth Vendor management.

Handling Railway activities like demurrage wharf age and engine detention charges payment and liaison with Railway authorities up to HQ level.

Compliance to all railway procedures for smooth day to date operations.

Peruse for a faster processing of various claims / proposals with division & zonal railway office.

Ensuring timely action & compliance against new railway circulars / directives like E- Payment/ Motion weigh bridge etc.

Cost Optimization & Operational efficiency Management -

Ensure and achieve 100% order fill ie no loss of sale.

Reduction of net loss ie storage loss, transit loss, claim settlement with insurance.

Ensure adequate focus on cost by optimising contracts with C&FA and transporters and minimising Depot expenses.

Reduction of freight per ton / KM.

Cycle time reduction for truck loading in Plant / unloading at Depot.

Logistics Cost Optimization- TDC ( Total Distribution Cost ) and system development.

Warehousing & CFA - Management -

Ensure and implement effective warehousing, and distribution operation policy.

Identify locations for storage of goods at different points of supply chain. Creation of new Depot & Warehouse, .ie Identification of warehouse location, Developing RFQ & specifications for developing new Warehouse, Contract negotiation and finalization, Developing and creating infrastructure as per the SOPs of warehouse operations, Periodic review of contractor / CFA performance.

Appointment of C&FA, depot and effective operation of Depot/warehouse.

Responsible for cost sheet preparation and various agreements with vendors.

Reduction in Distribution Cost by indentifying cheapest mode of transport and by TDC method ( Total Delivered Cost)

Ensure compliance of statutory norms while planning for despatch / transportation and storage activity.

Ensure timely delivery of products to end customers through efficient and foolproof logistics planning.

Validate and ensure implementation of Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP ) for Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution.

Inventory Control Management

Ensure maintain regular stock at all warehouse

Manage inventory through FIFO method

Inventory Management: :- Performing over all inventory management from production to final dispatch to customers at various stock point like Sites, Depots, warehouses and Distributors/Dealers.

Monitor warehouse /Depot to ensure smooth and cost effective flow of inventory to and from the warehouse.

Establish structure and procedure to ensure effective receiving, storage, retrieval, delivery of merchandise across the warehouse chain.
