The student’s disabilities included but not limited to autism, language impairment, behavior disorders, DHH and ELL. The main goal of this class is to help students gain the knowledge and skills to get back to their grade level work and ultimately get placed back in a regular education classroom. In less than a school year I had several students make 1 to 2-year academic gains.

I taught all subjects including reading, math, writing, social studies, science, art, music, social skills, theory of mind, movement and computers. I incorporated brain breaks and sensory breaks where needed. I researched and obtained curriculum to support the many abilities and levels of students in my class. This included but was not limited to brain based and project-based activities. 8/13-8/16 School Sponsor for the Wentzville Holt Color Guard/Winter Guard I attended all practices and competitions, scheduled gym space and buses. I monitored the behavior and safety of the students and took care of minor injuries. 8/09-8/16 Instructional Assistant, Wentzville RIV School District I was the Resource Room teacher at a middle school and provided services to a wide range of Special Education students. I have done inclusion teaching and worked with autistic kids in the regular education setting. I worked in an Autism center for K-5th grade in the Wentzville, MO school district until 2013.
