Application for the Position of Logistics and Procurement Officer Greetings. With this note, I wish to express my interest for the position of logistics and supply officer in your Kampala office and be part of your team in Uganda. I have a diploma in business administration with logistics trainings and experience in humanitarian aid.
I have more than eight years of experience in charge of field logistics activities. In addition, more than 3 years of experience working at the coordination level as a logistician. I have excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills and able to work with multinational of people. I am flexible and able to live and work in a stressful and insecure environment. My experience while working with MSF in Uganda, South Sudan, Cameroon, Niger, and with ACF-USA in Uganda as logistician, I have achieved the following but not limited:
- Define and follow up strategies to respond to the needs of the target population through logistical activities,
- Implement and monitor logistics activities such as construction, transport of goods and staff, communications, water and sanitation, vehicles and generators, waste management, installations and infrastructures (hospitals, offices and accommodations)
- Plan and coordinate the budget for logistics activities in order to respond to the needs of the target population
- Manage, train and supervise the logistics teams to correctly perform all logistics activities (including briefing on communication tools and security measures)
- Implement and monitor appropriate security rules and measures (e.g. risk reduction policy and guidelines, evacuation plan)
- Support and manage supply chain activities (cold chain, stock and warehouse management, orders, insurance, etc.)

Role: Responsibility for coordinating, consolidating, and ensure smooth implementation and adherence to logistic and security procedures and provide logistics support to the Nutrition / Food Security programs. Responsible for effectively managing logistics staff, vehicles, procurement, assets, stocks and jointly monitor security with the Field Manager for Action Against Hunger with a view to ensuring smooth service to the field office. Ensure that logistics procedures and respective donor regulations applicable to projects implemented on the base are closely followed.
