EXPERIENCE

Pennsylvania Chemicals, Monaca, Pennsylvania — Coatings Inspector

September 2020-Present

I began this job on my tools as an industrial painter, where my duties were, but not limited to, preparing concrete for coatings using needle guns to achieve proper anchor profile and cleanliness per site specification, coating concrete using multiple 2-part epoxies, powertool blasting welds to achieve the correct anchor profile and cleanliness, and coating the welds per site specifications using multiple types of coatings by many manufacturers. I gained experience here working at heights safely, and I was certified as a hole watch and confined space supervisor. I quickly advanced to becoming a coatings inspector due to my knowledge and certification. As an inspector I was responsible for obtaining and comprehending the ITP for the site project. I was to strictly enforce the project's specifications by inspecting and measuring anchor profiles, wet and dry film thickness, blast cleanliness, monitoring paint storage temperatures and mixing areas/procedures,and ambient conditions throughout the day. On a daily basis, I would communicate with the paint GF and his foreman in guiding them to doing things within specifications. I was responsible for maintaining all gage calibrations and my daily logs. I had to record all data into the client’s paint protector app, or via paper ITR. I would perform start-up system walkdowns with Shell and generate punch list items. Once the punch list items were complete, I would sell the system to Shell. I also assisted the FEs in determining correct paint systems based on the piping material, insulation purposes, and normal operating temperatures found on the LDTs. I also had to audit other QCs’ ITRs

UPS, Saint Clairsville, Ohio — PVD
