Objective
After 35 years in the software development world and a few years of retirement, I’m looking for opportunities again. I have led large, globally dispersed teams of up to 100 people. I have championed transformations from waterfall to agile and coordinated team and organizational level changes necessary for success. My teams have delivered results and I have fostered many current leaders that are highly skilled technically, collaboratively and professionally. Some of my engineers are now at Amazon, Salesforce and Cisco. I’m looking for the right opportunity to contribute and lead in a dynamic environment.

I am most proud of the implementation of American Express @Work, the first web-based customized reporting tool for companies using our Corporate Card program. The tool was revolutionary at launch as no other provider had a global data warehouse and secure, interactive web-based reporting. I managed this project end to end. @Work is still in use today by Amazon’s corporate card program with Amex. I received a patent for this product. The Tax reporting feature, including criteria to identify potential VAT, saves American Express corporate customers millions of dollars.
Later I was fortunate enough to own multiple Salesforce platforms within American Express. My budgets ranged between 10 and 20 million dollars for running concurrent high priority projects. We also consolidated Salesforce instances resulting in efficiencies in sales effectiveness, licensing costs, technology overhead and organization structure, all with improved customer satisfaction.

Communication
I’ve had a wide range of opportunities throughout my career, presenting to large audiences on new products for example or guide hardware replacement upgrade policies. I’ve also testified before IRS lawyers for corporate tax purposes resulting in millions of dollars on tax savings. I’ve submitted documents used for patent submissions and was awarded a patent. In managing people, I have extensive experience with diverse, cross-functional teams in multiple countries.
Leadership
I’m a firm believer in customer obsession, servant leadership and the critical importance of being present, curious, decisive and supportive of my teams. Leadership involves courage, consistency, the proper level of transparency and establishing trust.
