EXPERIENCES:
Mechanical Design Engineer at Amphenol Canada Corp. (2013 until now)
Design high speed connectors using SolidWorks, Ansys FEA
Design for high precision stamping, insertion/injection molding
Design for high volume automation
Patented design of the industry first 0.6mm pitch high speed internal connector using PCB card edge plug, SFF-8654
Design of 0.6mm pitch 112G high speed IO connectors.
Manage projects from concept to final qualification and continue supporting customers
Junior Engineering at Thumbprint Solution Inc (Apr 2011 – Aug 2011)
HyperWorks, FEA of automobile structure, mechanical design, data acquisition
Completed design of a test system to obtain force profile of car door retainer, both electrical and mechanical.
Engineering Assistant at Amphenol Canada Corp. (Jan 2010 – Dec 2010)
Mechanical design of highspeed connectors, tools. coop work for 2 terms
Completed design of the industry first non-destructive extraction tool for press-fit high speed connectors
Manufacturing Engineering: CNC and application programmer at CFM Corp. (2002 – 2007)
Sheet metal fabrication, data acquisition and automation, application programmer, data migration
Achieved 100% common line cutting programs for both laser and turrets.
Achieved minimum 50% laser fabrication productivity increase using common line cutting and keeping cutting head down during positioning while carefully avoiding head crashing.
Achieved 100% hi-pot test, power and vibration measurement of electrical fireplaces, and data storage with serial number of each fireplace. First such system in the industry.
Achieved 100% CNC programs availability by writing and running a customized synchronizing C program to update CNC programs from a main Unix server to shop floor workstation.
Achieved 100% CNC programs migration from Mac Unicode to Windows ANSI code using Unix data backup and Linux processing with C code.
Laser fabrication technician, assistant supervisor at CFM Corp. (1997- 2002)
Operate and program laser fabrication station, automate fabrication stations, assist others to fulfill production schedule, design, implement and maintain data acquisition and automation.
Manually rewrote most of high-volume laser programs using G code, macro and netting template to keep cutting head down and achieve common line cut, reducing cutting time by half and saving material.
Achieved 100% BTU measurement of gas fireplace burners and data storage with serial number of each burner, using Windows PC and Measurement Computing hardware, RS232 and RS485 bus. First such system in the industry.
