COMMUNICATION

I would give safety talks every Wednesday

I prepared the weekly Schedule for plant operators LEADERSHIP

Turnover in employees was very high, I would assign to mentor the new hires that didn’t have licenses this would include.

• (Several daily plant walks to each building and give them scenarios of situations.

• (Spend several weeks collecting plant samples with them along with several weeks working in dewatering.

• (They would shadow me when process changes needed to be done valves needed to be opened or closed along with motors or pumps turned on and off.

• My overall job and goal were to teach them about our activated sludge plant and what to look for and get them prepped for going on call. My goal was to teach them everything they needed to know so they could be on-call at the plant. This included plant upsets in what to look for and possible process changes, where to go and what to look for when we get alarms and plant safety. I am very proud of what I have accomplished in my short career in the wastewater industry. From training new hires to become operators and helping other operators from other plants be able to pass their tests for certifications, to even saving a man's life during my time at Carson City.
