The Banco Popular Group has recently completed the segregation of several of its card businesses (debit and credit cards), as well as signing the acquisition agreement for the Citibank Spain, SA. Retail banking business and cards. All these operations are now managed under a single entity called Banco popular-e (BPE), which now exists as a JV between Banco popular and Verde Partners. Following an evaluation process, a decision has been made to outsource the core account processing of 3.7m credit cards to First Data (2.5m Banco popular / 1.2m Citibank Spain).

The Atlantic programme will design and implement an end to end cards processing platform and migrate both the Banco-popular book and the Citi book to the new platform for the current Atlantic programme, BPE has approached SQS to provide UAT Testing services for the core card processing application.
