SUMMARY

Results-driven Sales Manager and consulting bringing 50+ years of experience in product development, promotion and optimization. Skilled in developing lasting client rapport based on knowledgeable support and consistent service. Proficient in developing and applying advanced marketing, prospecting and merchandising strategies to accomplish promotional goals. Demonstrated success in building networks and supporting branding objectives.

Working with many high-tech software companies I have performed a lot of phone support until we hired enough people to staff that function. With a startup you do everything and I am very accomplished at doing everything required in a startup. I also answered all incoming calls regarding questions for our software products and provided support. Many customers were quite upset because they did not take the time to read the manual and it was necessary to first calm them down and then get the product working. This taught me to have the patience of a Saint! I am used to the frenzied pace of high-tech startups where you have the first-mover advantage and you want to maintain it. I am used to working only half a day (12 Hours) six days a week.

Owen Greeson Bio

For the past twenty-six years as the President of GeoSoft, a domestic and international sales and marketing firm, Owen Greeson has represented clients in Europe, Asia, and America. Starting in 2000 Owen has worked with the Finnish Government assisting software companies with their entry into the US. Over 60 companies from Finland have visited Atlanta and participated in seminars conducted by Owen and his associates.

His background in the personal computer industry dates from 1977 after purchasing a computer kit from Processor Technology and becoming a member of the original Atlanta Computer Club with Dennis Hayes (developer of the first PC modem) where his interest in Data Communications first surfaced.

As the founding Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Microstuf, Owen helped establish Crosstalk as an industry standard for data communications until it was sold to DCA in 1986.

As the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and an equity participant at Meridian Technology, he led the team that established Carbon Copy as the industry leader in remote control software. Under his leadership, Carbon Copy gained an 80% market share prior to being sold to Microcom in 1989.

In 1993 along with Dennis Hayes he was a Dvorak Award Winner for “Outstanding Ongoing Software Contributions.” The program description for the award reads; “J. Owen Greeson is a telecommunications pioneer who was influential in fostering the growth of PC Telecommunications and Remote PC operation products. Owen was closely involved with the success of Crosstalk and Carbon Copy. Currently, they were replaced by the Internet.

As the founding Vice President of International Sales and Marketing and an equity participant of CipherTrust, Owen helped create a new market segment that eliminates Spam (unsolicited email). In 2006 CipherTrust was sold for $274 million.

Owen's strengths are in finding products, providing the assistance necessary to productize and bring them to market. His abilities include product fulfillment, contract negotiation (international and domestic), trademark and copyright protection (international and domestic), sales and distribution (international and domestic).

Since selling a software company in the late ‘80s Owen has worked with multiple startups where he invested, advised and even worked full time until the company was sold. If you need a list of these, they can be provided.

Married to a native-born German lady, for 45 years Owen has a personal understanding of the cultural differences between Europe and the US. He realizes he is eighty-two (82) years old but looks like he is fifty (50), in excellent health and sounds much younger on the phone. Most people are rarely correct at guessing his age. Owen has retired multiple times, but it never lasts, he gets bored when not working and don't know what to do with himself.
