I did housekeeping for the hospital. Cleaning and disinfecting rooms that patients have checked out of. I know all the procedures and policies of how long a room has to sit before cleaning or if it’s a contact room and which chemical it needs to be cleaned with for which type of contact it is. I know what the proper PPE to wear when entering certain contact rooms. How to run the contact machine or robot that treats and kills the spores in the air in the room from which contact. I know how long certain chemicals have to sit for the kill time or the contact room. Then I moved and became the linen technician for 2 years. I was responsible for ordering the linen for the whole hospital, handling all the clean linen and distributing it throughout the entire hospital, receiving the ordered linen from the truck delivery and keeping track of all linen going out of the linen room. I also did team leading every now and then. I had to answer the phone professionally, very polite and give knowledge when asked questions. I also had to use the computer to get into epic and put people in crrtain rooms and make sure their work was being done in a timely manner and not exceeding the time of being cleaned. I also had to run a disinfectant machine in contact rooms and check to make sure the housekeepers were doing and cleaning their rooms in the right procedures and policies. Worked in this hospital for 3 years.
