Capital Project Support – I work in conjunction with the Deputy Director and Director with capital projects. Examples: Midland Train Park, Midland Dog Park, Disc Golf Course, J. Melvin Cooper Sports Complex.

Partnerships Liaison: working with partners such as the Gainesville City School System, Friends of the Park, Boys and Girls Club, Hall County Parks and Leisure, etc. Gainesville Parks and Recreation is a nationally accredited agency and every five years the Agency submits its standards to the accreditation team to be eligible for reaccreditation. The lead is in charge of organizing all documentation and submitting the information. Included in this process is coordinating economic impact, recreation programming plan and program summaries. Training Coordinator over all agency training, which is over 200 different training's per year across all divisions of the agency.

Grant Coordinator working with Deputy Director and Director on grant opportunities. Orientation Coordinator, which consists of an orientation PowerPoint and checklist for all new full and part time staff to introduce them to the Agency Works in conjunction with the Deputy Director to coordinate all areas of the Agency budget to finalize and present the budget to the board and city council. Updates the Strategic Plan for the Agency.

Recreation Division Manager

Gainesville Parks and Recreation

Duties include but are not limited to:

The everyday operations of the Recreation Division Manager: Supervision of 4 full time employees responsible for overseeing youth athletics, directing programs and camps, implementing instructional programs, and coordinating adult athletics and facility management.

Prepares and monitors budget preparation and is responsible for three cost centers. Revenue policy and sponsorship policy in the Agency.

Coordinated the Agencies annual fee analysis, which is gathering other Agencies chart of fees and putting them together to see where Gainesville Parks and Recreation falls in the market average. This analysis is the way the Agency decides its fee structure. Partnerships Liaison: working with partners such as the Gainesville City School System, Friends of the Park, Boys and Girls Club, Hall County Parks and Leisure, etc. Coordinated and oversees the Summer Community Theatre Program, which consists of a children’s musical workshop and an adult performance each year. Responsible for all activity summaries, annual activity reports and monitors Agencies service levels for programs.

Works daily with the Management team to strive for excellence in their Agency. Coordinated the volunteer recognition program, which includes the preparing of the volunteer manual, leading staff through the volunteer recognition months of April & October and coordinating the 5 volunteer awards given yearly by the Agency. Coordinated community involvement and partnership management. Heavily involved with marketing manager for the marketing of programs and events. Responsible for accreditation writing and documentation for the Recreation Programming Plan. Supports recreation team daily and encourages all staff to grow personally and professionally. Duties Include but are not limited to:

The everyday operations of all Youth Athletic Programs: Supervises all youth athletic programs. Including all team sports, all youth sports camps, all athletic special events (opening day of baseball & softball, punt, pass & kick, pitch, hit & run, etc.) and all pee wee sports. Participation number are over 3,000 a year in youth athletics. Some special events bring in over 5,000 people.

Instructor of all Pee Wee Sports for 4 & 5 year old children. Sports Include: basketball, flag football, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, cheerleading & tennis.

Responsible for preparation and monitoring the budget for youth athletics and the youth sports booster club.

Recruited all volunteer coaches. Responsible for securing and obtaining applications, background checks, photo ID’s and certification of all volunteers in the youth athletic programs. Responsible for all evaluations, drafting and preparing practice & game schedules of all team sports. Also doing all evaluations and post-season coaches and staff meetings to determine any changes that need to be made for the next year.

Responsible for Concessions in youth athletics such as inventory, stocking and hiring of concession workers.

Responsible for the hiring and scheduling of all umpires, officials and scorekeepers for all youth athletic leagues.

Responsible for all team and individual pictures for all youth athletic participants. Preparing RFP for picture bids to photographers every three years and compiling information to determine bid winner.

Responsible for obtaining all youth sports sponsorships. Worked with Marketing Director on all promotions and advertisement for youth sports programs. Director

Union County Recreation Department

The everyday operation of the Union County Recreation Department and the everyday operation of Meeks Park and the Union County Recreation Pool.

Budget preparation and monitoring for the Union County Recreation Department Supervised 4 full time staff and 30 part time staff (this includes concession workers, lifeguards, day camp staff and sports officials) and all volunteer coaches. Hiring and evaluations are maintained each year through the Director.

Overseeing Meeks Park making sure park is maintained at the highest level in all areas. Coordinated all programs that are not in athletics such as dance, baton, special events

(working in conjunction with the Visitors Bureau), aquatics programs and senior programming Does all marketing for Department such as registration forms, flyers, news releases, brochures and postcards.

Maintained two websites for the Department.
