Medical Laboratory Director/Associate Director Student Health Service

Maintains CLIA standards and all regulatory requirements in a moderately complex laboratory. Coordinates and supervises the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. Ensures laboratory testing complies with established Standard Operating Procedures. Implemented and maintains the Orchard laboratory information system. Performs phlebotomy and a variety of diagnostic laboratory tests on the Piccolo Xpress, Sysmex XS-1000i, Sofia, Cholestech LDX and Clinitek Status+. Provides leadership to clinical team; lab, nursing and providers to ensure that effective patient care is provided and seamless patient care delivery is achieved. Coordinates nursing student shadow experiences. Supervised laboratory staff and the activities of a moderately complex laboratory, including scheduling and adjustment of staffing as necessary. Accurately and efficiently entered and verified charges for billing purposes. Reviewed and maintained procedures and laboratory reports in order to maintain JCAHO standards and regulatory requirements. Performed QA audits including chart reviews and provided QI data to the quality management team. Facilitated initial and ongoing training of laboratory and nursing staff. Performed a variety of diagnostic laboratory tests on the Dimension EXL 200, Sysmex XS-1000i, Sysmex CA-540 and Clinitek Advantus.
