WORK EXPERIENCE:

Kindred Hospice (formerly Gentiva Hospice; as well as formerly Odyssey Hospice)—Harlingen, Texas Registered Nurse. Case manager and admissions nurse for hospice patients at home, nursing homes, and in the hospital. Duties include coordinating comfort care for patients utilizing palliative measures, which will minimize or relieve pain levels. In addition, provide ongoing education to patient or caregivers. February 2013- Present.

Valley Baptist Medical Center— Brownsville, Texas

Registered Nurse. Responsible for primary care of adult patients on a Telemetry Unit. Major duties include: Clinical assessments throughout a twelve hour shift for six adult patients with the following medical conditions: Congestive Heart Failure; Coronary Heart Disease; Chronic and/or Acute Renal Failure; and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Other duties include education of patient and/or family members as per medical conditions, procedures to be performed and current medications to be administered. Also, I provide education to patient and/or family member(s) upon discharge both in a written format and verbally.
