Clinical Experiences:

Internship training over 12 months:

• Two months training in each of the following departments: (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Anesthesia & Critical care medicine and Emergency), One month training in each of the following departments: Dermatology & ENT.

Pediatrics Residency training in MUCH:

• Mansoura University Children Hospital (MUCH) provides public services to a population of more than 8 million people. It contains 230 inpatient beds in 6 different pediatric departments with admission rate of around 5000 patients per year. The outpatient clinics provide public clinical services and medication for about 200 patients daily. The emergency room ready for dealing with hot cases 24 hours a day. Also, MUCH contains 12 units of different specialties including Neonatology, Hematology and Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Genetics, Gastroenterology &Hepatology, Endemic infectious diseases, pulmonology, Allergy and Clinical immunology, Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Surgery unit.

• My training during residence started at Oct 2007 to Oct 2010 in the following units:

1. Neonatology unit (Six months):

Mansoura Newborn Care Center is a level III referral center where critical cases transferred from surrounding general hospital. The unit consists of ICU with 12 mechanically ventilated beds including nasal CPAP, and intermediate care with 30 beds.

2. Cardiology unit (Four months) with the following experience:

• Clinical evaluation of a cardiac patient.

• Medications and doses used in cardiac patient.

• Cardiac emergencies and how to deal with.

• ECG interpretation.

• Echocardiography interpretation M mode and 3D mode. 3. Hematology and Oncology unit (Four months) with the following experience:

• Clinical diagnosis and evaluation of Hematology and Oncology Patients.

• Types and regimens of chemotherapy.

• Follow up of Bone Marrow Transplantation cases.

4. Gastroenterology unit (Four months) with the following experience:

• Clinical evaluation and emergency management of Gastroenterology patients.

• Liver biopsy technique and assistant in Upper and Lower GIT Endoscopies. 5. ICU unit (six months) with the following experience:

• How to deal with critically ill child.

• Monitoring of ICU patients.

• Types and modes of conventional mechanical ventilation for different ages. 6. Pulmonology, Allergy and Clinical Immunology unit (Four months) with the following experiences:

• The clinical interpretation of Chest and Allergy cases.

• Procedures and interpretation of pulmonary function tests.

• Procedures of skin test.

7. Endemic and tropical diseases unit (Four months) with experience in: The clinical diagnosis and management of cases of malnutrition and endemic diseases.

8. Endocrinology unit (Four months) with the following experience: The clinical follow up of cases, management of diabetes and how to deal with endocrinology emergencies.

9. Nephrology and Renal dialysis unit (Two months) with the following experience: Dealing with children with different renal diseases and those won renal replacement therapy either hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. 10. Neurology unit (Two months) with experience:

• In managing different cases with neurological disorders.

• Understanding the basics and significance of different electrophysiological studies.

• The rotations in cardiology unit, gastroenterology unit, pulmonology, Allergy and Clinical Immunology unit, Endemic & Tropical diseases unit, Hematology unit and Endocrinology units include general pediatric and specialty training.
