PROFILE:

A professional electrical engineer with over 3 years of experience in operation, maintenance, design, installation and commissioning of protection & control, telecommunication and SCADA systems, for transmission, substation, power plants up to 220 kV voltage level.

Maintenance Engineer (Instrumentation & Control)

•As lead maintenance engineer, supervised a team of engineers, technical and administrative staff.

•Supervised maintenance staff and performed all types of repair and replacement works for electrical equipment.

Project Engineer, 4x210 MW Units (3, 4, 5 and 6), Bin Qasim TPS Extension Project, KESC,

Pakistan

•As owner’s engineer, supervised, reviewed and coordinated the design, construction and commissioning works for all I&C systems and equipment in accordance with stipulated specifications (IEC standards). Worked closely with the consultants (FICHTNER, TEPSCO, and NESPAK) and contractors (Ansaldo, Marubeni, Black & Veatch International, ABB, AEG-Alstom and Siemens) teams.

•Executed planned and emergency maintenance, upgrading, modifications, checking/ rectification activities and prepared associated reports for types of I&C equipment and systems.

•Prepared restoration plans and restored power plant under total system break down.

•Coordinated with OEM experts and internal departments for shut downs, procurement and installation of spares.

MAJOR TASKS/ ASSIGNMENTS

Duties included maintenance of I&C equipment and control system of two steam turbines with gas and HFO boilers.

I was responsible for the routine and emergency maintenance as well as annual over hauling of instrumentation and control system.

Worked on behalf of Karachi Electric Supply Company for a period of four years during erection, testing and commissioning of unit number 5 and 6 of I&C system.

In December, 2007 I participated and worked on behalf of Karachi Electric Supply Company for upgrade of turbine bypass system AV5 to AV6 plus from M/s CCI Switzerland.

In February and March, 2008, I participated and worked for upgrade of data acquisition system and sequence of events system.

In November and December 2009, I participated and worked for upgrade of DEHG and HITASS system HISEC 08 to H5000M.

I looked after and maintained the equipment/systems as listed below:

a) ABB, Decontic-K, Decontic-S and Data Logging System.

b) Contronic-3 Control system (H&B).

c) ABB pro-control P13 & P14 control system.

d) PLCs of GE Fanuc, Allen Bradley and Siemens.

e) Hitachi Automatic Control & Start-up system and DEHG.

f) HP & LP By Pass System (AV-5) of SULZER

g) Turbine & Boiler Protection System

h) Pneumatic control loops and Actuators

i) Local instruments for measuring Flow, Pressure, Level and temperature.

j) Analyzer system, fire alarm system, telephone exchange and clock system.

k) Burner management system of M/s Sie Forney Italy, M/s Durag Germany.

•Received four and a half months technical training in the field of instrumentation and control of steam power plant control system (contronic-3) at Genova, Italy in 1989.

•Received four days training of GE FANUC PLC system 9030 and 9070 series at Singapore in 2007.

•Received 3 days training of SERVOMAX Oxygen analyzers at Dubai in 2008.
