Production/ Press Operator June 2021-Nov 2021

The Primary concern of my daily tasks was the operation of “the old press” . This was the machinery used to extract the last bits of juice from grapes before the wine process began. Besides this there was a weekly sanitation of the machinery which includes the press itself and all the augers and smaller machinery that is connected along the way. When not operating the machines the tasks would vary depending on the work order assigned to myself and others, thus ranging from setting up a transfer from start to finish, taking gauges/temperatures,and/or any form of plant beautification(ie: racking hoses,chemically cleaning centrifuge plates, maintaining clean work environment).

Majority of the job required harvesting tree fruits (i.e: peaches, nectarines). While the rest of the time was preparing and maintaining the fields until harvest.

Normal daily tasks included acquiring an accurate count of all inventory within facility grounds (i.e: raw product, packaging materials). This count would be conducted at the beginning of the day and again at the end of it. Once inventory has been taken the "pick tickets" for the week will then be reviewed and materials and products will be assigned to fill these orders. In the case of there not being enough supplies to fill an order i then would request needed items from the offsite storage facility. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment and assisting anywhere necessary.
