My work as an Engineer I:

1st Project Jazan Refinery and Terminal Project. Our activities are mostly focus on Smartplant Instrumentation(SPI) doing some as-built. I’m doing activities like adding notes to instrument especially for FGS instrument based on the information that the Yokohama Operation Center (YOC) will give to us. Updating cable and voltage Indication based on the Instrument Segment Diagram, updating also of the Drawing information (title block), Doing movement of junction boxes, wiring and some overlapping of tags, connection of instrument, generation also of DCS and ESD Instrument Loop Diagram and printing and compiling it. Overall our work revolves in updating, changing and adding additional information that YOC will give to us in SPI.

2nd Project is about KNPC Project. Our activities there is about wiring and cross wiring of FTA card from the system cabinet going to marshalling cabinet. Making terminal strip, assigning how many channel and strip for each connection, changing colors of wires and updating of PSV data sheet only the part of cold set pressure and revision because the last time they made revision is from 2016 and its 2020 now. Only those things are what we are focusing.

3rd Project is Jafurah Project where my main activity is about Instrument Index. Whether it is contractor or vendor side, I have to assign tag number, loop number, P&ID Number, Instrument Type, Service, location whether its Field, MCC or LP, IO Type-AI,AO,DI,DO or FF also the system DCS, ESD or LCP, Line size, Insulation, Line Class/Equip Name, if its with tracing or not, Who is covering the scope if its JGC/Vendor, Package No. and lastly the parallel equipment. Mostly the P&ID are tanks, drums, package, pumps and vendor package.

4th project is about PKI (Pilipinas Kao, Inc) TA3 where I do Instrument detailed loop drawings. My 1st activity is Instrument loop diagram AutoCAD drawings where I change the drawings depending on the Instrument connection wiring list. Some things we need to change are the following: In the client side are IO modules, FCS (fieldbus control system), Cables under them are channels, slot, node, component, terminal no., terminal block no., Panel no. and cores. And in our part are Field, Cable, FTB under them are Tag No., Terminal No., Core, Cable No./Cable Spec, TB no., Terminal No. and some additional mark ups like Instrument type, Model, range, signal protection, maker, service, tag no., notes, and lastly the revision no. where I put some rev cloud in the things that we change as per revision no. My next activity is the Instrument wiring connection list, based on the latest mark ups, same as I do in AutoCAD but this one is in excel sheet form.

Company: Arabian Contracting Development Company

Position: Electrical Inspector/Electrical Design/Work Permit Receiver/Safety

Date: May 05, 2017 – May 05, 2019

Company Profile:

Arabian Contracting Development Co., Ltd. (ACDCo) is a leading contracting and industrial firm. Since 1999, ACD Co. has established a proven track record of prominent turnkey construction projects in both the public and private sectors. ACDCo. Offers its clients a wide range of diversified high-quality services. Its present area of expertise includes the following: Shutdown Work, Structural Steel Works, Water and Sewage Pipeline, Civil, Electrical and Industrial Mechanical Works, Manpower and Equipment Supply, Cathodic Protection.

Job Description:

My work as an Electrical Inspector is about inspecting Material, Installation and Pre-commissioning.

In Material Receiving Contractor Supply I have to inspect materials like power cable, conduits, conduit fittings and accessories, overhead accessories and ground rods. I have to check first materials then prepare QMIS front page, checklist with Material Take Off, Purchase Order, Delivery Note, Invoice, Testing Certificate, Aramco Vendor Certificate and Drawing. Then raise Request for Inspection (RFI) and call my Aramco PID (Project Inspection Department) to check my Materials on the schedule in my Checklist. For Aramco Supply Materials like Disconnect Switch, ACSR, Surge Arrester, Steel Pole, Power Panel, Transformer, Rectifier, Anodes, Junction Boxes and Coke breeze, I have to coordinate with the main contractor to release the materials in Aramco warehouse then prepare QMIS front page, checklist, MTO and Drawing. Then raise RFI and call my Aramco PID that I have schedule for inspection and went to Aramco Warehouse to get the material and attach the Outbound of the material with the checklist and submit to Aramco PID.

For Installation of materials like Steel pole, transformer, rectifier, disconnect switch, post and suspension insulators and others, I’m going to prepare QMIS front page, checklist and the drawings. Then raise RFI and call my Aramco PID that I have schedule for inspection and went to the site so he can check if whether the materials are properly installed in the area.

For Testing like Meggering of the power cable we are using insulation megger, for transformer we are using Insulation Megger also to test the Primary, Secondary and Continuity. Meggering of ground rod using earth megger tester to see if the resistance is less than 25Ω for the steel pole and less than 5Ω for the ground grid as per Aramco Standard, Holiday Testing of positive cables and anodes wires to check if there is voids, holes or damage to the cables, Sagging of ACSR using Sag meter or Dynamometer as per Sag and tension table in the scope of work. Functional Testing of the power panel are done with third party. Same as before I will prepare QMIS front page, checklist and the drawings. Then raise RFI and call my Aramco PID that I have schedule for inspection and went to the site so he can check if the test results passed based on Aramco standards.

For Pre-commissioning of the Rectifier, we are just using swain meter to measure the current in the pipe in the wellhead area. After that we go to rectifier to adjust the coarse taps to test whether if the voltage or current of the rectifier will be at least 70% to avoid damaging the rectifier.

In Electrical Design:

It’s about making as-built drawings for each location that we finished. Our Drawings are from Jacob Zate, Worley Parsons (Al-Khobar, SA), SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering. The DGN files that are given to us are being edited in AutoCAD to apply the changes in the site as per our surveyor whether there are additional steel poles, changing the span or distance between steel poles, if there will be other obstruction like FOC (fiber optic cable), pipeline or marl road that are crossing the path of steel poles that we are going to installed in the site. After that we make 4 hard copy of OHPL and CP Scope of work then print, stamp one by one each page, signed each pages also then apply the changes in the drawing, structural list, add the JU number using red ballpen and green ballpen for correction as per Aramco Standard. After that I scan the files with the changes and put in the CD, 4 for OHPL and 4 for CP and submit to the main Contractor NESMA, KENTZ and Al-Barghash.

As a Permit Receiver:

I received the permit from Aramco if we are doing hot work or Cold Work in the site. My role there is to check if our workers are following the proper PPE, working with safety and following the standards based on Aramco. After the work in the site I will return the permit to Aramco.

As a Safety:

I’m the one making the HIP (Hazard Inspection Plan) Package before we start the project in the site. It consists of Scope of Work with applied changes in Structural List and Drawings, Walkthrough, Attendance Sheet, HIP Objectives, Emergency Procedure, JSA (Job Safety Analysis), Method of Statement, Evacuation Procedure, Hazard Identification Field Verification Form, Specific hazard being Identified, Confined Space Entry, Heat Stress Management, Organizational Chart and ERP (Emergency Response Plan).
