As a part of my academic project this project is to study, compare, enhance and evaluate the mechanical properties of Al6061 by adding alloy and other composites Learnings

Learned different types of casting processes, how casting components are made in Foundry.

Learned about different Alloys and composite materials, how adding alloys enhance/ affect Mechanical and Chemical properties of materials.

Testing of materials, Learned How the Mechanical properties of Various materials (Tensile, UTS, Ductility, Hardness, etc.) are being tested and evaluated.

Accomplishments

Three different Compositions are taken into consideration based on our study (A:AL6061+4%RHA+4%Al O, B:AL6061+2%RHA+2%Al O, C:AL6061+6%RHA+6%Al O ) The samples are subjected to various testing to evaluate their Mechanical properties, Sample C poses high impact, hardness, and tensile strength. SUPRA 2021 by SAE INDIA – (02 Sep 2019 to 30 Aug 2020) Buddh International Circuit, Noida.

Objective

To Design, fabricate and develop the formula style prototype car that should meet Various Specification requirement (Engine Power, Acceleration, Fuel capacity, Overall weight, Cooling type) set SUPRA governing council.

Learned about Different Mechanical components (Engine, Transmission, Cooling system, Air filter system, Differential, Braking system, etc.) Their working principle, Functional requirements, Specifications, etc.

Hands on experience in designing the Structural components and fabricating some of the weldment parts in our workshop

Testing the overall performance of all the subsystems per the standard set by Supra. FFS India by FMAE – (10 Jan 2019 to 30 Feb 2020)
