Philosophy of Education and Diversity Statement:

My philosophy of education is developed from experience from working at Job Corps located on the Yakama Nation in White Swan, Washington,. I provided education and counseling to encourage my students to complete their training.

Students from Africa, Asia, Central America, Europe, Mexico, Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and additional Native American tribal members are enrolled as students. Each student is provided assistance and personal attention. Many of the graduates continue advanced training as a union apprentice, military, and community college classes.

I always have a positive image and self-esteem that projects self-regard. I love my instructional subject, i.e. love science and math. I have an open and positive approach to working with students and staff. I do not give or never give up.

My marriage is also a diversity experience since 1982 Lizabeth Santos Resurreccion and myself. Lizabeth emigrated from the Philippines in 1980. We have two daughters Lynda and Lucille. Lynda graduated from Central Washington University and Lucille was attending college until 2009, when she killed. We have all traveled to the Philippines several times visiting family and learning about Southeast Asia.

My father’s duty station in Honolulu, from (1959-1963) also provided a wide range of experience from surfing, SCUBA diving and Asian culture. In addition, my own experience in 1969, I suffered lower back, neck, knee, and leg fractures caused me to understand physical disability and improve my self-esteem.

I am motivated to provide assistance, counseling, and encouragement to all students that I encounter so that they may complete their college education.

My personal inspiration is Joseph Ribal, Ph.D.,a retired, instructor of Sociology and Community Service at El Camino College, and was a school board member of Los Alamitos Unified School District who encouraged me to enter the field of social work and teaching.
