I am seeking a Medical Assistant position in either the clinical side or front office setting of my profession, which often offers diverse job responsibilities in a growth-oriented organization.

Summary

I am a dedicated professional with over ten years of experience as a Medical Assistant and patient care. I have excelled in the area of human relation skills with a superior ability to achieve immediate and long term goals. My previous work experience has helped me develop the ability to work without direct supervision and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner. In addition I have had the opportunity to gain experience working with patients to assure patient satisfaction. My education has equipped me with the written and verbal skills needed to communicate with patients and employees. I am computer proficient with all windows operating systems which include programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and several types of electronic medical record programs.

During the course of my career as a Medical Assistant, I have had the opportunity to be versatile; working in a variety of specialties such as Rheumatology, Podiatry, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine and Restorative Medicine. These specialties have shaped me into a Medical Assistant who is not intimated by change. These changes have afforded me to gain many invaluable learning experiences.

Experience

As a Medical Assistant I am responsible in the triage and preparation of the patient to ensure their readiness for the Doctor’s exam. For example, the tasks listed are necessity when it comes to the patient’s wellbeing and readiness for a thorough exam.

Schedule appointments, verify insurance and collecting the copays and past due balances.

The collection of all patient demographics, current medications, allergies, past medical history, past surgeries, pharmacy information, social history, insurance info and chief complaint.

Exam room Triage which includes blood pressure, height, weight, pulse, respirations, B.M.I, pro-time, urinalysis, spirometry, breath-tek, holter monitor, blood sugar, EKG, cryotherapy, bone densities, x-rays, labs drawn, injections, casting for orthotics, ear lavage, bladder scans, breathing treatments, sleep study evaluation, orthostatic, wound care, removal of stitches and staples.

Phone triage which includes the cancelling and scheduling of appointments, scheduling tests such as MRI, CT, US, etc.

Ensure the pre-cert is completed as well as the referrals for the patients which are sent out to a specialist if needed, calling in prescriptions approved by the Doctor and providing prior authorizations when needed.

Confirm HIPPA form is completed and making copies of the patient’s medical records when requested.

Make certain the rooms are well stocked and in an orderly fashion, ordering supplies, Filing charts, scanning documents

and placing them in their proper location.
