RESEARCH DONE DURING BSc NURSING

As a part of fulfilment of requirement for the course of degree in Nursing, a research project was submitted named “A Research on Reproductive Health” in Dr. John’s College of Nursing in Yelahanka, Bangalore”.

DISSERTATION DONE DURING MSc NURSING

As a part of fulfilment of requirement in MSc Nursing, a thesis was submitted named “A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Self-Instructional Module on Knowledge Regarding Selected Ergonomic Problems and Its Management among Computer Users in Selected Educational Institutions, Bangalore” Responsibilities and Personnel Skills:-

v To report on time.

v Take over from the previous shift nurse the documents and bed side handing over, rounds with her

/ him, to check the IV lines, tubing (ventilator settings, ventilator tubing, ETT, water level in humidifiers, Ryle’s tube, bed sore, Oxygen flow meter etc.) v Ensure proper handing / taking over of the patients, patient's documents, equipment’s, drugs and stock effectively.

v Evaluate the condition or critically ill patients and confirm that the effective timely care is given to them with empathetic approach. Check the bedside medicine trays. v Check the special procedure files with all the documents and keep it ready for further activity. v Check the emergency equipment’s and drugs to meet any emergencies. Any discrepancy, it should be corrected immediately.

v Ensure that all investigation reports are collected and kept ready for consultant’s rounds. v Attend to calls, inform referrals and get the reports. Procedure Skills:-

v Trained in administering drugs through IV, IM, SC, and oral tropical as per the treatment. v Experienced in surgical wound and emergency dressings. v Take care of patients in traction, cast and all kind of post-operative orthopaedic clients. v Efficiently assisting for emergency procedures like intubation, CPR, Lumbar Puncture, Bone marrow aspiration.

v Experienced in Foley’s catheterization, IV lines and Ryle’s tubes insertion. v Monitoring vital signs& Glasgow coma scales

v Bedside nursing care for unconscious and critical patients. Management skills:-

v Maintain patient’s feedback and detail report book. v Ensure the ward with necessary equipment’s, drugs and stationary items. v Co-ordinate with ward secretary regarding admissions and discharges of patients and billing activities. Ensure that it is carried out in time. v Incase of death, ensure that the death certificate are filled up properly and corporation form is handed over to the Medical records department in time. (4 death certificates for all cases except MLC in which 5 certificates are required).

v Ensure if proper care is delivered to the patients. v Co-ordinate and lead the nursing team towards successful delivery of nursing care. v Processing outpatient, dental, inpatient medical insurance claims (domestic and international) Teaching skills:-
