Director of Synagogue Operations
•Oversee day-to-day management of the synagogue, which also houses an active Nursery School and Hebrew School;
•Maintain a safe, attractive and clean building;
•Secured more than $200k in grant funding from state and federal offices of Homeland Security and managed grant projects, including the overhaul of CCTV and alarm systems, as well as installation of physical barriers;
•Served as key player in conversion to ShulCloud and act as main point of contact for database information (facilitate school enrollment, update website, run reports, send mail and create registration forms);
•Serve as “face” of synagogue, building relationships with current and potential members, as well as oversee annual membership renewal process and serve as point of contact for financial considerations/dues abatements;
•Work on COVID team to create and tweak policies that help ensure the health and safety of our community while maintaining active, in-person programming;
•Ensure building security, including upgrading security systems and coordinating guard personnel coverage, while also striving to maintain a welcoming atmosphere;
•Maintain master calendar for building use;
•Supervise office staff, including administrative assistant, bookkeeper, publicity coordinator and custodian;
•Work with staff and lay leaders in creating and implementing synagogue policies and procedures;
•Work with committee chairs on event planning/publicity, fundraising and bar/bat mitzvah logistics;
•Redesigned and implement annual mishloach manot/Purim gift campaign; raised more than $15k/year for past two years;
•Work with Publicity Coordinator to constantly improve social media posting and community outreach;
•Submit bi-weekly payroll;
•Process Nursery School invoicing (QuickBooks).
