Designation: Supply Chain Project Manager

I was heading a UNSOS Project dealing with Supply Chain/inventory, warehousing and logistics of all UN operations in Somalia in six major sectors i.e. Mogadishu, Kismayo, Beletwyne, Baledogle, Baidoa and Jowhar and all the strongholds of (Al Shabaab)

Purpose: To manage the project Operations including warehousing, inventory and logistics roles at United Nations Support Office in Somalia. (Mogadishu)

oMy main task was to ensure the Project working tools are in place in respect of warehousing and inventory management of UNISOS 33,000 stock items.

oI managed all the 6 main Warehouses SUPPLY/ CITS/TRANSPORT/MEDICAL/including the main yard and yards at the sectors throughout the war-torn country.

oAll inbound and outbound logistics were under my jurisdiction working hand in hand with UNSOS staff.

oRecruiting, training and deploying both national and international staff and ensuring appropriate skills transfer.

Unlimited Responsibilities:

oEnsuring accurate inventory of the central warehouse in Mogadishu as well as within the main sectors with active complex operations - Mogadishu, Kismayo, Beletwyne, Baledogle, Baidoa, Hargeisa, Dhobley, Afmadow and Jowhar.

oManaging UNSOS over 15,000 inventory stock SKUs including Transport, Communication Information and Technology Systems (CITS), Medical (Drugs, Consumables, Radiology, Dental & Equipment), General Supplies and Yard Management.

oProviding accurate and reliable project reports to UNSOS senior management on monthly basis with regards to set Key Performance Indicators.

oManaging stocks and general warehouse operations using SAP’s (Umoja system).

oBeing a 3PL and 4PL organization, the tasks ranged from Receiving & Inspection, Labelling, Put Aways, Order Fulfilment, Yard Management, Inventory Control, Property Management & Disposal and Reverse Logistics.

Directed a Physical Inventory Reconciliation Optimization (PIRO) team which had managed to reconcile and reduce variances by 90% and targeting 100% in Q4, 2019.
