DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In our Critical Care Unit, the assigned staff has to take the overall responsibilities of the patients. DUTIES INCLUDES
Receive the patients with case files, from emergency, wards, OT, Recovery, or as direct admission.
Make the patient comfortable on the bed and check the general condition, record vital signs in the master chart.
Connect all necessary monitoring devices to the patient.
Start oxygen as per need of the patient.
Help the patient in their daily ailments.
Raising the slip through computer for medicines investigations and diet.
Intend the required drugs every day and remaining medicines will be refunded to the pharmacy.
Early morning sponge bath, mouth care will be given to maintain personal hygiene.
Q2H position changing, frequent mouth care, eye care will be given for immobilized patients.
Explaining the patient’s relatives about visiting hours.
Dressing the minor and major wounds.
Assess Neurological Status (Glasgow Coma Scale), Blood Sugar.
Maintaining intake and output chart.
Collection of specimens and send to laboratory as early as possible.
ECG, Blood transfusion, Catheterization and Bladder wash.
Removal of lines according to patient’s condition.
CPR, intramuscular and intra venous injection, venous sample collection.
Maintaining records and reports.
Assisting of External Ventricular Drainage Procedure.
Care of Patients with EVD, Drains, CRRT, Dialysis.
Care of COVID-19 positive patients in ICU
