From Sep 20th, 2020 to Present:
Technical Office Engineer /Project Control at American International Contractors Incorporation (AICI) (Jordan-Al Azraq),
An 80 Million US$ project for US military base in Muwafaq Al-Salti Air Base/Jordan/Alazraq, the client is the US army. The project consists of construction of new flight line road, necessary buildings, utilities, airfield pavements, and infrastructure improvements to the US Forces Operations.
I am working with the control team as a technical office engineer where my duties/responsibilities involve and not limited to:
- The process of preparing the required project`s submittals, shop drawings, BBS, MARs, MTQs and all the documents needed by the construction team to conduct the work. Reviewing the subcontractor’s submittals & Submitting TQs (Technical Queries) to the client`s representative, consultant at site to solve the conflicts happened at site.
- Monitoring the progress at site and following up with the construction team to compare the actual progress with the planned as per the projects constrains (Schedule, Cost & Scope Baselines).
- Reviewing the subcontractor’s invoices and working with the commercial team to prepare the projects interim payments and the monthly invoices.
From Feb 15th, 2015 to March 10th, 2020:
Bank Projects Engineer at NOOR Bank (UAE-Dubai),
• Working with the risk department for the contractors & real estate financing process for preparing TCRs (Technical Capability Reports) and PARs (Project Analysis Reports) by evaluating the client`s/contractor`s current standings in the market and its overall capabilities (technical and financial) of completing the ongoing projects and if he can take on new projects.
• Regular monitoring for the ongoing financed projects (the average number of current projects per year was 40 projects with a total portfolio of 5-6 Billion AED), which involves and not limited to:
- Reviewing all documentations related to the projects, like (feasibility study, contracts, drawings, Specifications, cash flows, program baselines, etc.) to make sure that the projects constraints (Budgets, Durations, specifications, etc.) are acceptable.
- Conducting site visits for the projects to check the project status and evaluate the contractor’s performances and compare the actual progress with the planed progress based on the program baselines received, and the other documents (cash flow, contracts conditions), and preparing a monthly progress reports for each project. Submitting them to the management.
in case there are issues with the projects, my recommendations for any solutions will be submitted to the bank, to enable them to take revised decisions/solutions for the financing parts.
- Reviewing the payments application and the invoices from the consultants, main contractors, and the subcontractors for each project individually and making sure that they are within the agreed terms and the condition of their contract.
- Developing and implementing SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), templates & MIS for project monitoring for the management.
- Developing a document template matrix, which will be made available to clients at the start of a project, to facilitate submittal of the clients’ progress claims, listing required documents for each type of payment to minimize the time required to process claims.
- Participating in other tasks required to be carried out from time to time as per the bank requirement, Site visits, Value management and cost control, Interim payments certification review and Resource schedule reviews.
• Working with the valuation team for preparing Valuation/Milestone reports for ongoing/Completed projects.
• Working as a client representative engineer for Noor Bank properties (Head Quarter project
& other owned buildings construction) by assisting the Director of Facilities, Planning & Projects during the pre-construction and construction phases, which included but not limited to the assigning the project manager, lead consultant and the design consultant, and monitoring the progress to make sure the works are on the track with the outcome submittals, as per the contract terms & conditions, and working on the assessment of consultants related payments during the preconstruction (design) phase. Working on site and make sure the handing over process for all activities are within the agreed specification, drawings and any other related/agreed documents, by monitoring the daily works of the contractors, subcontractors & Consultants and participating in the inspection if required, conduct weekly & monthly meetings to keep monitoring all projects activities and raise the minutes of meeting to the higher managements in order to make them aware with the projects status during the construction phase.
From Jun 8th, 2014 to Jan 31st, 2015:
Site Engineer at Arabtec Construction Company (UAE-Abu Dhabi), Served as site engineer in Al-NAJMAT a midrise residential building in Al-Reem Island. The project is a 135 Million US Dollar and consists of: 3 basements, ground floor, 2 Podiums and 23 typical Floors. I managed the inhouse manpower as well as the subcontractors for handing over the whole finishing works (Block work, plastering, painting, tilling work, landscape... etc.) on the Ground floor, Podiums and 5 typical floors.
From Feb 17th, 2011 to May 15th, 2014:
Site Engineer at Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) (UAE-Abu Dhabi) Project 1: A 250 Million US Dollar oil and gas project in Bab Habshan – Abu Dhabi. Main contractor is Petrofac Emirates and Client is ADCO. The project consists of construction of new compressor station, two remotes degassing stations, new central degassing station, oil gathering system, production supporting system and 20 km Transfer line.
I was the engineer responsible for the precast production yard, and the technical engineer for civil engineering departments, prepared the shop drawings, BBS, MARs, MTQs and all the documents needed for construction team.
Project 2: A 580 Million US dollar field development oil and gas project in QUSAHWIRA. Main Contractor is NPCC and Client is ADCO. The project includes construction of a new central degassing station, remote degassing station, oil gathering system, production supporting systems and the 80 km main oil line to ASAB Field. I was the site engineer responsible for the activities of the camp mobilization, site facilities
(precast, carpentry shop and steel yard) and site construction including all infra structure foundations for the pipe racks, underground & elevated water tanks, underground pipe lines utilities, foundations for large equipment, construction of the buildings for (Substations, Control rooms & offices) and the roads (Asphalt & interlocking tiles roads), slab on grades and the landscaping areas of the sites.
From Oct 1st, 2009 to Feb 14th, 2011:
Junior Engineer at Engineering Consultant (ENGICON) (Jordan-Amman), Designer and quantity surveyor for highway and transportation department, worked on small to medium projects like; Amman Ring road, Al Salt-Wadi Shuaib, South Amman Water Treatment Plant, Al-Rayyan hills in Yemen and Jordan highway master plan.
From Jun 22nd, 2008 to Aug 16th, 2008:
Internship at Mid Contracting (Jordan-Amman),
The main project was constructing 12 midrise buildings, consisting of Offices, apartments, commercial centers, and parking lots at Al-Abdali Boulevard. I was responsible for assisting the project engineer in implementing and supervising different locations on site, I participated in the monitoring process of project implementation, keeping in the mind factors such as time and cost, received proper training in the Quality Assurance and the Quality Control departments.
