Sr. Powerbuilder Developer, 2014 – Oct 2016

Updated and maintained .NET applications using Visual Studio 2015 with MS Framework 4.5/4.6. Version control was done through Microsoft Team Foundation Server. Coding methods and functions using ASP.NET 2.0, VB.NET, C# and HTML. Troubleshot and resolved bugs in .NET applications to ensure optimal development environment. Other duties were development of multiple Powerbuilder applications used by the CFTC ( Commodity Futures and Trading Commission. ) Migration of applications from PB 11.5 to 12.6. Java Developer working on the Planning Budget Tracking System Application. PBTS enables Armed Forces Information Services (AFIS ) to manage its budget processes. In doing so, PBTS maintains budget items like obligations, funds control, purchase orders, and payroll for DOD wide accounts. PBTS consist of web enabled technologies such as Oracle Weblogic 10, XHTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and Java Server Faces (JSF). Weblogic is used to create .EAR files and Oracle 10g is used as the back end database. Source control is handled by Star Team. EAR files were built using MAVEN 2.2. Also coded in ColdFusion 7/9 and devloped using Dreamweaver CS4 to create prototype applications. Setup and configuration of ColdFusion servers, IIS servers and JRUN servers. Developed and maintained procedures and triggers in SQL Server 2008 R2, Visual Studio 2008, and Toad 10 for Oracle. Other technologies used were LDAP, Active Directory, and Crystal Reports.

Sr. developer/analyst working on the Dealbuilder Application. Dealbuilder utilizes PB 9, with an Oracle 9i back end. Responsible for developing Oracle Stored Procedure code in PL/SQL, unit testing, and deploying to QA environments. Tools used are TOAD, SQL Plus, Source Safe and Remedy for ticket tracking. Also developed and maintained SQL Server (SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server 2005/ Visual SQL Server Studio ) databases using Transact-SQL to develop, packages and procedures for other Powerbuilder 9 applications.

US Census Bureau (Census), Suitland, Maryland

Sr. Powerbuilder developer/analyst working on the CMOCS (Coverage Measurement Operations Control System ) for the US Census Bureau. CMOCS is a control and tracking system for CCM operations in the Regional Census Centers. The system tracks and reports progress on CCM operations. System used for the 2010 Census. CMOCS is written in PowerBuilder 11.5 using Powerbuilders PFC and Object Oriented (OO) concepts. Backend processing is written in C/P/L SQL stored procedures on a SUN/Solaris UNIX server. Both of these components interact with an ORACLE 10G database, which reside on a SUN/Solaris server. TOAD for Oracle and PVCS Version Manager 8.2 were also used for project.

Financial Management Services (FMS), Hyattsville, Maryland

Java Development/Powerbuilder Development, May 2000 – Nov 2008

JAVA/J2EE / Sr. Powerbuilder developer for U.S. Department of Treasury. Responsible for developing and maintaining the FMS224 and FMS224 Bulk applications, which are used by the D.O.T. to receive information about the financial conditions and operations of federal agencies. The FMS224 provides Treasury with reports of agency payments and collections which serve as a basis of Treasury’s publications to Congress and to the public regarding federal revenues and expenditures. System developed using Powerbuilder 6.5/10.0 and Sybase System 12 on a UNIX platform. Re-engineered to be J2EE compliant, using IBM’s Websphere (v 6.0 ), JAVA, Javascript interfacing with Oracle 9i/10g. Other tools include EJB’s, Servlets, JSP, Struts and Clearcase for version control . Also coded C and C++ scripts and Oracle stored procedures.

Sr. Powerbuilder Developer, Nov. 1999 – May, 2000

Developed and maintained a transportation management system (OrbCAD-NT) used for tracking and locating moving vehicles. Software was developed using Powerbuilder 7.0 and MS SQL Server 7.0. OrbCAD-NT incorporated object oriented development standards along with the use of Orbital Sciences pre defined base class object and Powerbuilders PFC. Lead Powerbuilder developer on an eight member team.

Part of a three member team developing RIS ( Rates Information System ) software used by Cable & Wireless for the purpose of tracking and adjusting phone rates for different customers. Software was developed using objects inherited from the PFC (Powerbuilder 6.5) and Oracle 8.0. Responsible for developing user objects which would allow the RIS system to read and validate Microsoft Excel spreadsheets using Powerbuilder.

Creating software to be used by Norwest and Wells Fargo Banks. Developed software using Powerbuilder 6.5 and 5.04 in a Windows NT environment. SQL Server 6.5 is used as the development and production database. The application is be used to track the stages and life cycle of bank loans. Sr. Powerbuilder developer on a five member team doing requirements analysis, window and database design, coding and testing.
