Store Operations Manager
1.Leadership:
Work closely with the General Manager in decision making and strategic planning for the Co-op. Be the person-in-charge in the absence of the General Manager. Align self with the Co-op Ends, business plan, vision, mission, and current strategies. Participate in Open Book Management and mentor staff accordingly. Lead and manage a team.
2.Supervision:
Oversee the operational departments: Grocery, Café, Produce, Wellness, and Front End. Hire and evaluate department manager positions. Approve staffing plans for sales department managers. Ensure all employees receive adequate on-the-job training. Approve expenditures for training expenses and coordinate with the General Manager and HR regarding education goals.
3.Store Operations:
Collaborate with Marketing Manager to develop storewide merchandising guidelines and strategic approaches to marketing efforts (such as advertising, promotions, and demos). Oversee quarterly storewide inventories. Accompany government inspectors and report to General Manager on actions needed. Ensure consistent product and purchasing guidelines for the organization. 4 Planning and Finance:
Participate in development of annual operating, capital and cash budgets for the Co-op. Collaborate with General Manager and department managers and set objectives for department financial key indicators: sales, labor, inventory turns, etc. Monitor deviations from the established budget, work with managers to take corrective actions and report findings and actions to General Manager. Oversee departmental purchasing budgets.
4.Facilities & Security:
Ensure Co-op equipment is maintained in good working order. Oversee repair and maintenance projects. Ensure Co-op and grounds have systems to maintain the facility in clean, orderly condition, and meeting or exceeding Health Department standards as well as attractive and welcoming to customers. Oversee service providers such as waste management, pest control, landscaping, etc.Ensure security and safety of customers, staff, building and inventory.
